Today Jalal was awesome in DEK. Not just DEK. In the whole epi. When he was getting ready. Thinking about what MA has taught him. His pain in DEK when MA confessed her crime. RT was bang on. His emotions were perfect.

Jalal/Rajat was amazing!
Ashiwini too was awesome today. Sometimes she made me feel sad for MA. 😆 .

I know - she is so convincing! You feel her pain

And Jalal use is betrayal se itni takleef ho rahi hai what will happen when he will know it was MA who killed his children 😭 .Divya I still have not forgotten when he break down during Rukku's MC. He made me fan of his acting with that scene. I cried with him. His helplessness. Though he is a Shahenshah he has so much power he could not save his child. And his that dialogue "Koi humse hamara taj hamata taqt chinle par hame hamari aulad lauta de" 😭

Let's see how that truth unravels ...

Jodha at least they showed her missing him. But her emotions r not portrayed well. They have done a great damage.They have to do a lot of work to made us forget her ego. Let her be there for a long time.

As I say, execution is poor as the scenes are disjointed and for a short duration ... While her ego scenes went for a long time; hence, the balance is a challenge.

Finally today I saw HB praying for her son. But why was she nodding her head to MA in DEK 😕 .

To say, MA has the right to speak for herself? After all, her son is alive because of her.

Yesterday I forgot mention about Rukku. Everytime I see hope in Rukku in the next epi they crush my hope. Jalal is broken can't deal with his own pain. And She wanted to show Jalal that she is angry with him so that he comes and manaofy her. Ek taraf Jo dusri taraf Ruks. Bechara Jalal.Nobody cares for him.

I think Ruqs is in shock and denial that she has lost her childhood friend- read Shraddha's take on it on page 1.

Precap. Looks Atgah is dying soon. Jalal will be completely broken. I think Jalal will send MA to delhi that's why AK will lose control.

Fantastic analysis. The first time I have changed my views on an episode based on someone else's writings. You have given a very vivid description of what each character is experiencing so I have very little to add. As you explain so clearly, I like the emotional portrayal of MA,Ruqaiya and Adham. They are villainous but this human touch gives nuances to their characterizations.

Take 5

So, here is my take 5, with four shades of Jalal and one special mention for Maham Anga:

We saw the two shades of Jalal as a husband ...

(1) The loving husband in the flashback scene ... Doing nok jhok with his dear Jodha Begum. Only the CVs know when these two were so close ... That he could give Jodha tel maalish ... But it showed the personal Jalal ... Who had let go of all his responsibilities as a Shehenshah and was acting like a husband at home. How few opportunities he must have received in life to completely let go like this.

Maine unki aankon mein Prem nahin dekha!😲

(2) The angry husband: While he tried to control his emotions as a Shehenshah as he listened to Atgah Khan's allegations against Maham Anga, it was interesting to note that the allegations were focused on breaking harem rules and gadaari to the State; but Jalal the husband could not hold back, he added angrily how she misled him about his khaas begum and his inner wrath came out for a moment.

Not just that. How much has he suffered because of it? Poor poor Jalal!😭

(3) The pained son: And while he tried to act emotionless as a Shehenshah, the pain slipped multiple times including:

- As he was recalled how Maham Anga had held his hand to give justice in the past as he was getting ready for the Diwan-e-khaas

- As he reflected on how he could not believe that his Badi Ammi did this as the allegations were read in the Diwan-e-khaas

- The pain in his eyes when Maham Anga accepted all guilt and he now had to punish her

Despite all the pain she has given her, Jalal has not forgotten what Maham Anga has done for him. I respect him for that.

This is what makes him Great. He never forgets a favour! But is just as well!👏

(4) A Shehenshah forging his own path ... Today, as Jalal was getting ready for Diwan-e-Khaas, I saw a Shehenshah looking to God (as he touched the Holy Quran) to guide the way to deliver justice. He realized he no longer had his Badi Ammi to guide him ... And would need to apply what he had learned from her and others on his Badi Ammi himself. As now he really had no one standing by his side for his support, he is truly forging his own path and evolving as a great Shehenshah. And when he entered, the Diwan-e-khaas he embodied his role of being the Shehenshah.

He perhaps felt the same after Khan Baba. There is also a dialog in those episodes to that effect. He lost his father figure then and mother figure now. He stays alone at the podium from now on...and he will be alone for the rest of his life. His khaas begums will be there for him but they can never take the place left void by BK and MA.

(5) A special mention to Maham Anga / Ashwiniji for three specific scenes that I thought she nailed:

- As she walked towards the Diwan-e-khaas with Resham, her walking, expressions , and voice reflected someone who had lost everything with the title of Badi Ammi being gone

- Her eyes rose briefly as Jalal addressed her as Maham Anga ji in a formal way

- When she was asked if she wanted to defend herself ... It seemed like she was looking for a way out but realized without being his Badi Ammi she was caught ; and so she admitted full guilt

Ashwini was perfect.👏

A comment on Jalal's two begums:

Jodha: She is now remembering her husband with a smile ... As she remembers the tel maalish and calls Shehnaaz Shehenshah. I am not sure why the CVs are showing her emotions in silos - Kali Mandir she is disturbed, then she is scared after waking up, and then today she is smiling. The scenes and emotions are shown in such a disjointed way , I am not sure how close she is to coming back to Agra.

The mystery of the missing and confusing emotions!

Ruqaiyya: I think she is living in the childhood bubble that Jalal is her's to dominate and push / pull around ... Even if she made a mistake, he was her friend and would always come back to her. She is living in denial that this is no longer just her childhood friend Jalal.

Wake up kid. Grow up Ruqs.

Random musings that are not good enough to be a funny take

- I think I know why they focused on Jalal dressing up for so long... He seems to have lost quite a bit of weight and they wanted to show it to us after all our complaints

- Maan Singh is back - when he has no Bua Sa to protect! When will the CVs give him something to do again!

He is never there when he has to protect her. Jodha's brothers, Maan Singh, Mirza Haakim and Salima Begum can compete on who looks blankest! (But now looks like Jo is also joining the list)

- With the rate of Jodha-Jalal flashbacks ... I can't help but wonder what else this jodi has already done?!? Are we missing something big?

Chupe rustams. The have been giving us lollipops and eating all the chocolates secretly.😡
