I have never liked Bharmal too much.

Yes he was being a little strict with Jo at the right time, but he is the last person to encourage Jo's stay at her Maayka.

Looking at Jo I feel so priveledged and emancipated. A woman of today can just walk out with a suitcase and build a roof and life without any help.

Now Jalal says its Jo's ego not hurt!

He is right about one thing though... he does have a sultanate to take care of. He could have said, I need to go back to take care of my kingdom. but will wait for you to come to Agra, your home. Even if you don't, I'll come back later to fetch you.
