hi Mansi,
11 coconuts! that's a lucky number - hope we get 11 episodes of JJ in Amer, starting from yesterday!😆 And 11 OTT reviews from you too!
I was not at all upset with Jodha yesterday. You have explained everything beautifully. She was still struggling with her heart and mind. Her heart was yearning for him while her mind was still holding on to the hurt and telling her not to believe him and to stay away from him. Poor girl had not yet resolved this conflict when Jalal confused her with sights and sounds. My poor little Jo must have thought she had become schizophrenic. 😆 The suddenness of his arrival and her own mental condition prevented her from recognizing the gravity of his condition.
I told you yesterday that Jo might get a premonition and ask Bharmal to send his army to Jalal. Looks like Bharmal himself got the premonition and sent his army. Though his army is also useless like the Agra army. What were they doing till Jalal fainted? 😆 At least they took him to Amer in one piece. I am glad Jalal kept my hopes in his ability alive and rescued himself valiantly. He is such a great warrior who is at his most alert and ingenious best even when he is mentally exhausted and devastated. The old man came in handy to get Jalal to keep the sikka where it could work as a kavach to keep him safe. 😉
You are right about the empty ego shell and the thinking rut Jo had fallen into. When we were discussing this in the last few days, I had mentioned that it would be no good if Jo is in Amer and Jalal goes back to Agra because then they would get stuck in their ego, waiting for the other to take the initiative. The shock of seeing a wounded Jalal is therefore imperative at this stage to push Jodha to come out of her mental blockade and acknowledge her feelings. Seeing him in person at close quarters and being forced to care for him will push her to let go of her mental fears and heed her heart's desires.
It would have looked illogical to me if she had hugged him the moment she saw him because she has not seen his remorse/pain/hurt/agony and his crusade to find her and win her over. She only remembers the Night. She doesn't know how much he regrets that night and to what lengths he has gone and is willing to go for her. What she does know is that he loves her and she has already forgiven him in her heart. But how can she acknowledge openly to him and her parents that she still loves him, after claiming that she will never go back to him?
Bharmal did 2 wise things yesterday:
1. He got Jalal to Amer safely.
2. He told Jodha frankly to get hold of her own emotions and to be more sensitive to her injured husband and emperor.
Mainavati helped her husband by using her own emotional twisters to unscrew Jodha. The mother understood her daughter perfectly and knew that Jodha was looking for a face saving excuse to go to Jalal and tend to him. And she provided the perfect excuse - that he was their guest and injured. So now Jodha can attend to Jalal all she wants in the name of atithi seva and kartavya to an injured person. 😆
She is still going to do some nakhras in front of Jalal and show him some attitude. Like Mainavati guessed, she wants to make the most of the situation like a typical wife and get Jalal to woo her with all his charm and tricks. This is quite good from Jalal's POV also because he will rid himself of his guilt by wooing Jodha with some difficulty. If she had melted easily, the guilt would have stayed with him - "how could I hurt such a sweet forgiving girl"? And secondly, he will learn to value her and think twice in future before daring to distrust or abuse her. Last but not the least, till Jalal is able to woo her, they will remain in Amer, far away from the madding crowd of Agra. 😉 And it will be a big relief for us also not to have to see MA/Ruq and assorted jeev-jantu of the Agra zoo. 😆
I have been quite critical of Mainavati and Bharmal in the past. But now they are rising in my eyes. Wow, they are behaving like sensible and responsible parents and helping their children (both JJ) come to terms with reality. Wish HB was invited here to learn some tips and tricks from them!
The only thing I didn't understand was why Bharmal let Jalal "totter" (ur words 😆 ) to the waterfront? Wasn't any conveyance available? But he made up for this lapse by being the avuncular FIL and ordering Jalal to get back in bed. Jalal was so touched by this "order" that he promptly obeyed. Bharmal's intervention in the "Shahenshah, aap yahan kya kar rahen hain" scene must also have come as a big relief to Jalal. No wonder, Jalal fell in love with the Ameris hereafter. 😆
Precap: Obviously nothing as dramatic as we expect - but interesting nevertheless. Anticipating the scene with bated breath. 😳
