When Love beckons you, follow him, Even though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him, Even though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you
And when he speaks to you believe in him, Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as Love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
These lines are for TE - Love crowned him and crucified him and he has taken both in his stride thus he has grown and been pruned. Today TE stands tall and stately.
I particularly like these lines 😊 it's evident that love not only brings happiness and strength to one's life, but also desolation, despair and weakness. I know many say that love shouldn't make you weak, but what really is weakness against the power of love? I mean, what exactly is considered being 'weak' when in love with such intensity?
Is TE weak for listening to his heart over his mind? Is he weak for passionately and wildly loving Jodha? Is he weak because he can go to any extreme length for her? Is he weak because he is willing to risk everything in love, especially his position and image as an Emperor?
The kind of love described here is absolutely accurate for Jalal. Love hasn't made him 'weak'. It's the strength of his love for Jodha that forces him to listen to his heart. It's the intensity of his love for Jodha which drives his passion and makes him go to great lengths to seek her forgiveness and happiness.
When one describes such kind of love, I feel it's best if we forget for a moment that he is the Emperor of Hindustan. As someone had mentioned in the forum a few days ago, Mughals had many decorums to follow, but as Jalal the lover, these worldly rules and regulations can't hold him back from the passionate love he has for Jodha, therefore, as a lover, he is bending over backwards to seek her forgiveness and that is justifiable. He is not weak for risking his position and status, rather, it is the firmness of his love which has forced him to let go of his ego and everything that was holding him back from transforming into an ardent lover.
Jodha Begum, you ask Kanha why every time TE comes close to you and then he is pushed away? You ask why this test you face every time? It is becoz you have not realized this lesson about Love yet my dear Begum and until you do, you will keep facing this test in some way or the other - Life will make us face such tests until we do learn the lessons life wants us to learn. And here is the lesson for you Jodha Begum -
I am honestly still keeping optimistic about Jodha's transition into a lover of this kind. I can't help but still hope we will get an epic love like this between both the leads, not just an ek tarfah love as shown up until now. And the reason I feel so is because during the dhakka, although Jalal was hurt and dejected (like Jodha) it was mainly his ego and self-respect that was hurt, likewise, the same goes for Jodha in this case. The only difference is that here her character was questioned, while there, Jalal's manhood was insulted. So basically I'm still hoping that she too will overcome the obstacles of ego and let herself go in the absence of love and finally allow love to consume her whole like Jalal has. I want this intensity for both of them, no matter how differently they both tend to express their love.
If only Jodha's self-respect was hurt and there was no ego, she would have still forgiven him, albeit still wouldn't have agreed to go to Agra with him, but it is her ego that is stopping her from ending his guilt trip. She knows that if she gives into forgiving him, she too will lose herself in love, and she is not yet ready to do so. First she must find herself before she is ready to lose herself in Jalal.
'Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself. Love possesses not nor would it be possessed. For Love is sufficient unto Love'.
Dear Jodha Begum, When you Love don't say God is in my heart', but rather I am in the heart of God'. And think not that you can direct the course of Love, For when Love finds someone worthy, it directs their course. Love has no desire but to fulfill itself
👏👏
Dear Jodha Begum, if you really want to understand Love look at Jalal and understand from him what your desires must be. See how Jalal Loves and what his desires are -
He has melted and become running water that sings its melody to the night.
He knows the pain of too much tenderness.
He is wounded by his own understanding of Love.
He is bleeding willingly and joyfully.
He wakes at dawn with a winged heart and gives thanks for another day of loving.
He meditates on Love's ecstasy.
And he sleeps with a prayer for the beloved in his heart and a song of praise on his lips.
Jodha too must learn to bleed willingly and joyfully. During Ben track, I thought her progress had begun, but now it seems she had taken one step forward, and three steps back. Though it's my optimistic hope that maybe this new Amer track will finally allow her to find enlightenment, although I'm not too happy about this track, I can't help but be somewhat excited.
