Chapter 2

*Mohammad Mansion - 7:00 pm*

"Where is he? He was supposed to come along with you naa?", asked a tensed Hameeda.

"Yaa.. He'll be here in sometime.. He said he had an important work.. but he promised me that he'll be here on time", said Mr.Humayun calmly.

The preparations had been done perfectly. All sorts of cuisines had been served on the dining table. Her family would be arriving anytime soon. Today they'll confirm the rishtaa once more just for the sake of it and both, Jalal and her, will meet each other.

After 15 minutes, when there was no sign of Jalal, Mr.Humayun called him up.

"Where are you Beta? Kabse We are waiting for you."

"Dad.. I got stuck in traffic.. Don't worry.. I'll be home at right time.", said Jalal.

"Okay.. come soon."

*Mohammad Mansion - 7:30 pm*

She and her family arrived. Mr. and Mrs. Mohammad welcomed them warmly. Both the families were happy to meet each other after a long time.

"Arrey Bhaisahab..Bhabhiji..Baithiye na.. Beta tum bhi baitho.." said Hameeda smilingly as she welcomed them.

They took their seats. Where on one hand, her parents looked elated upon this relation, she seemed very lost and strayed. Kya hua shadinse phele ka sharmana hai ya fir vo bhi shaadi nhi karna chahti hai

"How have you been Bharmal? We missed you and Bhabhiji so much. Work is so much important to you than us hun?!", asked Mr.Humayun placidly.

"Arrey Humayun.. Nothing like that.. We have been busy in our daily chores only. We were engrossed in Jodha's education. She wanted to study abroad and make her career. So we were just occupied in it you know.. You know how much attention and care these things require.. Agar main mehnat nahi karunga to we'll have a hard time, you already know.", said Mr. Bharmal with authenticity.

After all, Mr.Bharmal had faced a hard time in business. His company used to rule the Stock market and that was the time, when he had helped Mr.Humayun get out of the bankruptcy he was in. But as the luck would have had it, last two years have been hard for the former.

So many times, Humayun had tried to offer him help but he courteously refused it every time.

"Tum mujhse is baare mein baat naa hi karo to achcha hai.", said Mr.Humayun in a rough and upset voice.

"Arrey ye sab baatein chodiye aap dono.. Ye bataaiye beta kahaan hai aapka?! We are so happy for this rishtaa.. Vishwaas nahi hota.. ke ab humari dosti rishtedaari mein badal jaayegi.", said Mainawati delightedly.

"Bas vo aata hi hoga..",said Hameeda in a bit tensed tone. Then she turned to Jodha and asked , "How are you Beta? You are looking a bit quiet."

"I am fine Aunty. How are you and Uncle?", she finally spoke up in her ever so soft voice.

"Mashallah! You sound like an angel my dear beta.. We are also fine.. So how is life? And and and, how do you feel for this relation?", asked Hameeda teasingly so as to make her would be daughter-in-law comfortable.

Jodha lowered her eyes as her cheeks turned a little red.

"Life is nice Aunty. Just completed my Fashion-designing course some days back and have received an offer from a big reputed corporation as well. So, excited for it.", she said with a soft adorable voice.

"WOW! That's great. Make us proud beta.", said Mr.Humayun.

"And what about my second question?!", asked Hameeda in a teasing tone.

Jodha couldn't answer it. Her eyes were still lowered.

All the four elders laughed a little.

"Sharma gayi meri bahu" , said Hameeda.

Suddenly they heard a car honk coming from outside.

Hameeda heaved a sigh of relief. So finally he was here.

"He's come.", said Hameeda.

Jalal entered the house with a girl next to him. He held her hand in his as he came inside.

Mr.Humayun and Hameeda were shocked to see Ruqaiya with him. Never in their dreams, could they imagine that Jalal would do this. Within a flick of second, they knew what Jalal was upto.

"I am so sorry Ammi and Dad.. We were just stuck in traffic.", he said in a jiffy, being enough aware of the presence of the other family.

Bharmal, Mainawati and Jodha turned to him and the lady with him. They were a little shocked but their faces didn't show up the shock.

Hameeda tried to balance the scene now.

"Arrey Ruqaiya beta tum.. kaise aana hua?", asked Hameeda in a sarcastic tone. Then she continued , "Jalal tum yahaan baitho.. Ruqaiya beta chalo mere saath..thodi help kardo."

Jalal was shocked. Ruqaiya looked at him with confusion. Jalal indicated her to go with his mom and everything will be fine.

[On their way back to his home, Jalal had told Ruqaiya about the rishtaa his parents had confirmed for him. But he had assured her enough that he's simply gonna refuse it. Ruqaiya had gone in a little shock upon this, but his assurance seemed to calm her a bit.

He had asked Ruqaiya to come with him so the other family could back off on its own.]

As Ruqaiya went with Hameeda, Jalal came and sat next to his Dad. It was that moment, when he first laid his eyes upon her.

No, he was not mesmerized, though she looked adorably beautiful. Her deep brown almond-shaped eyes, with a lot of innocence in them didn't have much effect on him. Though he was not enthralled with her charming and innocent beauty, he couldn't help his eyes for they were just stuck at her. Something about her had hit him at the very first sight. No it was not love at first sight. And he was as sure to refuse this rishtaa as before, but somewhere in his heart, just somewhere, he felt a bit different.

There was a moment of silence for some time. A kind of awkwardness prevailed as Bharmal and Mainawati had seen that girl with Jalal.

Jodha finally lifted her eyes up to see her would be husband. It was that moment when both their eyes met each other.

Jodha didn't know how to react. She had totally left the decision of her marriage upon her parents for she knew that only they would be able to choose the right life-partner for her. As soon as she saw him, there was a thump in some corner of her heart, just somewhere and just for a second. He definitely looked handsome and striking.

Their eyes were engrossed in each other for more than they had anticipated; only God knows why.

Finally, Mainawati decided to break the lull that had fallen over for much time than required.

"Hi Beta.. How are you?"

"Hello Aunty..Hello Uncle. I am fine.", said Jalal with a little but genuine smile.

"Jalal.. She's Jodha.. and Jodha beta.. he's Jalal.." , spoke Mr.Humayun finally, who was really upset with Jalal for his disgraceful trick that he had played.

Before any more conversation could be held, Mrs. Hameeda called out from the dining table.

"Suniye.. Dinner lag gaya hai.. I think we all should dine first and then have the talks later."

All but Jodha and Jalal, got up to move towards dining table.

"Jodha...Jalal.. chalo beta.. aao..kyaa soch rahe ho.", called Hameeda.

Finally, they got up and moved towards the dining table, together.

Ruqaiya helped Hameeda in serving the food. Hameeda had silenced her nicely.

There was no shortage of servants in the house, but it was all the love and this auspicious moment, that made Hameeda serve the food herself. Jodha got up from her seat and asked politely in a low tone , "Aunty..May I help in serving the food?"

"Arrey No beta.. You sit and have dinner.. Shaadi ke baad to mujhe tumse hi sevaa karwaani hai.", she chuckled.

Jodha sat back on her seat with a little smile on her face.

Soon, they started having dinner though the presence of Ruqaiya somewhere bothered the Singh Family except Jodha for she was lost in her own thoughts.

** After Dinner **

Soon they finished their dinner.

All the while during dinner, all the four elders had hearty talks about themselves, whereas Jodha, Jalal and Ruqaiya had silence eye-talks among themselves.

"Very very tasty food it was Bhaabhiji... Kaash Maina could cook like you.", Bharmal praised Hameeda and teased Mainawati.

All had a great round of laughter after all these talks.

Now Hameeda became a little serious.

"Arrey Kuch bhi.. thank you Bhai Sahab.. Waise.. Mujhe lagta hai humein in donon ko thodi der akele chod dena chahiye.. Rishtaa to pakka samajhiye..lekin its better that these two talk to each other in some privacy."

"Neki aur pooch pooch.." came Mainawati's reply.

"Acha waise..Main aap sab ko inse milwaana bhool gayi.. She's Ruqaiya. Jalal's friend." And then she turned to Ruqaiya , " Betaa..I think ab raat ho chuki hai.. You should better be going to your home naa.. your parents might be worried for you." Said Hameeda trying to be genuine.

Ruqaiya and Jalal both were shocked.maine to socha tha ki ruks to villains type nature ki hogi bhut bolti hogi lekein ye toh chup thi na hi is ke nature se laga ki ye irritate hai maine socha tha jall ke pass piso ke liye aayi hogi lekin abhi tak toh aisa koi hint nhi mila hai koi villian hai kya koi is story mein

"Haan..I think you are right Ammi..Its getting late.. I should better drop her at her home.", came Jalal's sweet bitter reply.

"Arrey...tum kahaan jaa rahe ho... You and Jodha should talk in private now..Our driver will drop Ruqaiya..Dont worry.", said Hameeda showing stern eyes to Jalal.

"Arrey.. Ammi! Ruqaiya is such a close' friend of mine and its my prime duty to take care of her na.. So I'll better drop her... baatein to phir bhi hoti rahengi.." he said with evident irritation in his voice.

"No Jalal.. its fine.. I'll go on my own. Driver will drop me.", came her plain reply.

"But.." as soon as Jalal was about to speak more, Humayun cut him in between.

"Jalal.. Enough my child.. Don't worry about Ruqaiya beta.. I think now you and Jodha should have a word in private."

Jalal clenched his fist in anger.

With this, Humayun got up, followed by Bharmal, Mainawati and Hameeda.

They left the dining table and Hameeda accompanied Ruqaiya till the gate.

Jodha and Jalal were alone at the dining table.

P.S please this my personal request jodha ko bold dikhna aur story zyada emotional mat karna i am a vaery emotional person lekin agar karni hai to update regular dena ha aur mujhe ye love not t first sight wala concept acha laga kunki bhut baar yhei hota hai ki ladka ladki ki khoobsuriti mein kho jaata hai i like that unique concep
