A Valentine's day surprise
Today is a very special day for every couple out there . Why ? Because today is Valentine's day . But today is a little more special for me because it's my first Valentine's day with my husband Jalal after marriage .
Originally I wanted to spend Valentine's week with Jalal but all my plans got ruined when he told me that he had to go abroad on a business trip for two weeks and he'll only be back on the 17th . I was pretty upset that he had to go on that business trip and I really didn't want him to go but I decided that I should keep quiet about it and send him off happily though deep down I was really heartbroken .
I mean it's our first Valentine's day after marriage , shouldn't he like take the whole Valentine's week off and spend it with me or something ? Okay , maybe not the whole week , but he could have at least take the day off on Valentine's day right ?
But little did I know that Jalal was also feeling bad about leaving for the business trip . He kept apologizing saying that he wanted to take the day off on Valentine's day but he couldn't as this business trip was really important .
" I'm really sorry Jodha , I know how excited you were to spend Valentine's day with me . I promise I will make it up to you when I come back . "
" It's okay Jalal , I know how important this business trip is for your company . "
" What about Don't I mean anything to you ?' or maybe What's more important to you - your wife or your work ?' "
" Huh ? Why all of a sudden Jalal ? "
" Don't you want to ask me these questions Jodha ? "
" No , I could never ask you these questions Jalal . Besides , I know that I'm always your first priority and I also know how hard you and your workers have worked for to get this contract . So tell me how can I be so self-centered and stop you from going on this business trip just for my sake ? "
" Okay , in that case why don't we go on a dinner date when I come back ? Just pick any restaurant you like . "
"Really ?! Thank you so much Jalal ! " She hugged him .
" It's getting late I should leave now , goodbye . " He opened the door and stopped all of a sudden .
"What is it Jalal ? Did you forget something ? "
"Yes I almost forgot something important . My goodbye kiss . " he kissed her and left .

While Jalal was away , Jodha decided to give him a surprise dinner date at home instead of going to a restaurant when he comes back . She made a list of all the things that she would need for the preparation and went and shop for it .
A couple of days later , Jodha received a phone call from Jalal who told her that his business trip might end sooner than expected and he might be able to come home on Valentine's day and that they'll forward their dinner date to Valentine's day .
Later that day Jodha called up Rukaiya , Jalal's cousin who owns a boutique .
"Hello Ruks it's me Jodha ."
"Oh Jo , how are you ?"
"I'm fine , and you ?"
"I'm fine . So , why did you call ?"
"Actually Ruks , the thing is I need a dress and I was wondering if you have any dress for me ?"
"Going on a date with Jallu on Valentine's day ?"
"Yes ."
"I think I have the perfect dress for you Jo ."
"Really ?! Thank you so much Ruks , I'll come over tomorrow and get it ."
"There's no need for it Jo , I'll get it delivered ."
"But I still have to come over to make the payment right ?"
"There's no need for it . Consider it my gift to you ."
"But Ruks ..."
"No buts Jo . I'll have it delivered by tomorrow evening ."
"Okay , thanks Ruks ."
"Your welcome . Goodbye ."
"Bye ."

"Candles , check . Balloons , check . Roses , check . Dinner , check . Champagne , check . Desserts , check . Hmm what else do I need ? " Jodha looks around to find if she missed anything . " Something seems to be missing . But what is it ? Come on Jodha think , what's missing here ? Ah ! Champagne glasses ! How could I miss it ? Jodha sets up the glasses on the table and double checks if everything was perfect . After making sure that everything was perfect Jodha went and got ready as it was almost time for Jalal to come home .
Jodha wore the dress that Rukaiya gave her . It was a baby pink spaghetti strap chiffon dress with a satin waistline that falls till her knees . She wore a matching diamond studs which was also given by Rukaiya . Her hair was tied into a curly side ponytail .
Ding Dong ... Ding Dong ...
The doorbell rang . Jodha went and open the door it was Jalal .
"Welcome home ."Jodha greeted Jalal .
"Just welcome home' ? No hugs or kisses ?"
"Sorry . Welcome home ." Jodha hugs and kisses Jalal in his cheeks .
"Let's go in ."Jalal said .
"Nope . Before that , how do I look ?" Jodha asked Jalal excitedly .
Jalal looks at Jodha from head to toe and said "You look good ."
"Just good ?" Jodha pouted . "Fine . Come on in ."
As Jalal stepped into the house , he was taken aback by the preparations that Jodha made .
"Surprise !"
"You made this all by yourself ?" Jalal asked as he was still shocked to see this preparations .
"Yes . So , do you like it ?" Jodah asked nervously .
"You bet I like it . Thank you ." Jalal was about to kiss Jodha when she stopped him .
"Not now . Go freshen up while I prepare dinner . "
"Yes ma'am . "
A while later Jalal came out wearing a black suit with a white V-neck T-shirt .
"Dinner's served ."
Both Jalal and Jodha enjoyed their dinner .
"So , what's for dessert ?" Jalal asked mischievously .
"Chocolate molten cake , your favourite ." Jodha gave Jalal an equally mishievious look .

"Jodha once you're done with the dishes come here ." Jalal shouted from the living room .
After washing the dishes , Jodha went to the living room where Jalal was sitting .
"What is it Jalal ?" Jodha asked worriedly .
"Let me take a good look at you ." Jalal looks at Jodha adoringly .
"What is it Jalal ? Why are you looking at me like that ?"
"I was right , I knew this dress would suit you best ."
"What do you mean you knew this dress would suit me best ?"
Jalal smirks "I chose this dress for you . I knew that you would call Rukaiya up to ask for a dress so I teamed up with Ruks and chose this dress and the earrings for you ."
"So the two of you lied to me ?" Jodha brought her hands on her hips faking to be angry .
"I wouldn't say lie , it's more like a surprise . Do you like it ?" He asked .
"I love it ! Thank you ." Jodha hugged Jalal .
"Hold your horses Jodha , there's still more to come ."
"What ?! There's still more surprises ? "
"Wait here ." A while later Jalal came out with a luggage bag . "Your other surprise is in this luggage bag . Open it ."
Jodha opened the luggage and found a single rose , her favourite chocolates , a teddy bear and many more things in it . " What are all these Jalal ?" She asked
" Here's a single rose to convey that I love you . Happy Belated Rose Day ;
Here's a card asking you if you would always be my Valentine . Happy
Belated Propose Day my love ;
Here's a box of your favourite chocolates . Happy Belated Chocolate Day
my love ;
Here's a cute teddy bear for you my love . Happy Belated Teddy Day ;
Here's my promise that I'll always love you and keep you happy . Happy
Belated Promise Day ;
Here's some Hershey's Kisses for you, it's your favourite truffle
flavor . Happy Belated Kiss Day my love ;
Here's some Hershey's Hugs for you , milk chocolate also your favourite
flavor . Happy Hug Day my love ;
And last but not least , the dress and the earrings that you are wearing
right now are my Valentine's day gift to you . Happy Valentine's Day my
love . I know that you wanted to spend Valentine's week with me but we
couldn't spend it because I was away so I thought of making up to you for
it . So , how do you like my other surprise ? "
Tears started streaming down Jodha's cheeks "I love it very much . This is the best surprise I could ever ask for . Thank you so much for all this wonderful gifts . I love you !"
"I love you too my love ."
And both Jalal and Jodha spent the rest of the day in each other's arms enjoying the Hershey's Kisses and Hershey's Hugs .
