Salim-Anarkali is a fictional story written by a college student in lahore for a college play
There were rumors that Salim-Akbar had a fight over marrying a commoner in mughal empire. That is true but that girl was not Anarkali she was Sahib Jamal a neice of Akbar's milk brother. Akbar was very opposed to allowing Salim marry any commoner
And Salim was madly in love with her and would not budge. So after few years of pleading, fights etc etc finally Akbar allowed him to marry Sahib Jamal. But Akbar never accepted her as bahu and only gave his approval and blessings on death bed to Sahib Jamal and Salim. So they can show this story instead of Anarkali
