Theirs wasn't an ordinary love story, it was a story that spanned & shaped a vast empire... But sadly, got lost in History.

But today it is being revived & remembered and for that we have to thank Ekta.

Did you watch the first few seconds of the first episode of JA? She comes to his tomb ( or rather her shadow wearing a lehenga 😆) comes to visit Akbar & Akbar is so happy seeing her. For years I've been a huge skeptic of the JA Love story. Just ask Abhay, I used to PM him regularly & eat his head up. 😆

But after a little research, after talking to people who have these records & a few of my aunts, today I stand a firm believer.

MUZ very much existed.

She very much was the daughter of the King of Amer, hell-bent on not marrying this cruel, eagle & fox brained Emperor. She did lay out conditions in front of him.. but she DID marry him.. And she DID become the mother of his heir , the most powerful woman in Hindustaan & the only woman who had claim to his heart. ❤️

Jodha-Akbar were not only a meeting of two religions or people.

It was a meeting of two souls in the most Epic Manner possible. ❤️

One , that led to the India we know today.

Quetly, softly albeilt strongly, they Shaped & Carved India out of Hindustaan. With their Deep Love for each other, and of the country they ruled together.

It truly, is one of the most Epic Love stories ever. 👏

@Mandy: EXACTLY what you've written, is what I loved about Smiley's Ruqaiyya.

She had class, royalty, sophistication & an intelligent sort of grace, emanating from every movement & word of her's.

She didn't treat the other begums any better than this Ruqaiyya. But the difference was this - She treated them with the sort of polite yet confident disdain that only a woman secure in her position and true royalty, could do. And yet, you could see her un-surety peeking through, when she went to lengths to show them just how important she was to Jalal.

She was extremely confident yet un-sure, she was very strong yet vulnerable in front of Jalal, she was graceful yet her movements weren't that of lady-like elegance but that of a strong tribal princess toughened by the world & what she had seen it. She loved Jalal but delighted in playing games with him & making him wait. 😆 😳

She truly was my most favourite JA character right after Jalal!!! And I for one, am bitter-sweet happy that she left.

If there was Smiley playing Ruqaiyya, I would've solidly egged her on to win back her Jalal from that silly little Ameri princess!!!! 🥳

Some historians i have met in Delhi say, there is a wealth of information about JA there.!!!..

Though the records may be in Persian + Farsi also...!!..😕

The fact is records exist ... But languages and availability make it a tough JOB..!!...
