Jyoti, I felt this Ruq still behaves like a child, na? So that elder sibling vs, newborn sibling type rivalry seems apt, and I won't be surprised if Jalal's tactics are also like that of a parent having second child after a long gap after the first child, where the first child thinks it can rule the parent's full love and doesn't want to share the parent!
I feel Jalal likes playing these mind games with his begums .. he really wants to get things out of Ruqaiyya's mouth about how she is feeling insecure of Jodha's growing popularity and I wont b shocked if its Jalal's idea only to make Jodha head of the harem so that Jalal can see if Jodha actually has it in her to take some major decision related to various issues so that in future Jalal can actually make Jodha sit besides him in the diwan-e-khaas and diwan-e-aam always for all the meetings related to his people and kingdom .. But he knows if he tells this directly to Ruqaiyya , she will not agree , so he must hv told her indirectly that why dont she give this power to Jodha and then she can prove that none can take care of harem more than her if Jodha fails but in his heart Jalal knows that Jodha wont fail 😉😳 ... So indirectly Ruqaiyya too will realise that Jodha is becoming spl for Jalal because of her qualities of leadership too 👍🏼Jyoti, this is brilliant. It never occurred to me that Jalal may himself be behind this idea to make Ruq give the harem over to Jodha for administration. As you say, Jodha has a better grip on how to handle the praja, so the harem could be a starting point for training Jodha to accept more political responsibilities. I read that in historical terms Jodha was later given full charge of the ships at sea, and also the Haj pilgrims.
Playing of chess game was actually symbolic in the sense right now its actually a game of chess only going on between Jalal-Jodha and Maham-Ruqaiyya where Jalal-Jodha r like one team while Maham-Ruqaiyya is the opposition party trying to break Jalal-Jodha's unity ... So where this game of chess takes all 4 in the end and who wins it in the end remains to b seen 😛 ...Its interesting how Jalal had no plans to play with Jodha but he went on to play with her because Ruqaiyya got late which is more like how destiny is writing this script where Jalal is destined to partner Jodha in every single game of his life and not Ruqaiyya anymore 👍🏼...Yes, I too thought this chess was symbolic, but I couldn't exactly put my finger on it. Now that you explain it, it could symbolise the two "teams, as it were. Also Jyoti, one more idea strikes ... this chess game was different because it is about "using people as mohras" which is what is happening in the Agra political hotbed. Everybody is using everybody else as a mohra, and especially Maham is using Ruq as a mohra for her chaals.
Scene where Jalal secretly sits behind Jodha and starts drying her hair thus making her blush was a cute scene but CVs got to push such scenes further and make them a bit more intense and passionate 😳 ... What I mean is right now Jalal-Jodha bonding is looking more of friendship and less of attraction but in husband-wife relationship attraction and passion plays a very important role expecially in epic love stories .. I remember how in JA movie Jodha openly lusted over Jalal's bare body during his sword practice which is quite natural ... We need such kind of raw intense scenes between Jalal-Jodha now to take their relationship to next level as husband-wife .. the whole bonding , friendship and cute talks will get repitative otherwise if the passion element is not brought in ./. ...WE are waiting in vain for this hot body concept! From when am I salivating ...😲😲😲😲😲😲😲 yet nothing like this is happening. Nearest we came to any passion is that pre-dhakka wala scenes of Jalal ka imagination of lusting for Jodha!
Coming to Sujamal , I guess next MU is coming up as he will go to meet Jodha secretly which will result in Jalal misunderstanding Jodha big time like it was shown in movie and obviously Maham-Ruqaiyya will do the whole scripting of this misunderstanding 😡.. I will b glad if CVs do this differently than the film 😆😳
Jyoti, it seems the movie was completely off the historical mark regarding this Sujamal related MU between Jodha and Jalal, because NO SUCH THING EVER TOOK PLACE.Abhay (History_geek) has said that there is no evidence in history that Jalal mistook Sujamal as Jodha ka lover and there was no banishment of Jodha to Amer.So if that is correct and Ekta is more closely following history than in the movie (which she is doing definitely) then this Sujamal trip to Agra may be entirely differently handled. Maybe Jalal will get pissed off with Sujamal for attacking Mewat ... or Sharif may try to harm Sujamal ... or Sujamal may actually sneak some inside info on Sharif to JalalOne idea comes to mind that during Mewat attack, Sujamal may see the Jodha painting owned by Sharif ... and thus tell Jodha or Jalal about Sharif's private lusting of Jodha?.Also one more consideration: Mansingh is here in Agra who can easily tell Jalal that Sujamal is that "black sheep" brother who started the Amer war in cahoots with Sharif?
Overall it was an interesting episode with lots of new tracks developing ..Yes Jyoti, some new angles developing very interestingly! Hope now its not any more MU between Jodha and Jalal, and it is all about Jodha plus Jalal against other enemies!
