Chapter 39-what did you do?
Jodha stormed to her room with tears gushing down her eyes.what she saw could not be true.anything and everything was possible but not this.was he dead?could he do this?questions bombarded her mind and she was caught as a victim to them.
She ran inside her room and stumbled upon the rug,falling down on the floor.she did not try getting up.instead her silent tears now slid down with audible moans.

Jalal had seen jodha's disposition and had sensed the misconception brooding in her brain.the way she looked at him made it evident that she suspected his hand in the murder.he feared her look,her anger,her accusation,and her words- the most.
He moved towards the side,away from the body,where by now loads of men had gathered,and made way towards jodha's room.his brain had turned completely numb to anything else .in an instant he had forgotten about Suryabhan's dead body and the people surrounding it.it was only jodha that circled around in his mind.his jodha who ,perhaps,at this moment abhorred him.
'No she won't' he muttered to himself
With every such thought,his pace increased as he did not want Jodha to think anything wrong.it pinched him to think that he would drop down in her eyes.it was queer the way Jalal had transformed by jodha's presence in his life.the way it suddenly became so important to convince her.it was not anger but plain love that wanted to survive all the hardships it faced.

He finally reached jodha's chambers and ushered in like a storm.seeing jodha on the floor,crying bitterly,he ran to her side and tapped on her shoulder."jodha" he said in a pained voice.
Jodha,who until now was completely oblivious to his presence,jolted by his touch.she looked to her side and her countenance suddenly changed to sheer hatred.
She shirked away his hand and stood up on her feet,stepping away from him.
She was overwhelmed by feelings of hate and sorrow.
"Don't touch me"she said in a parched tone.her face was stained with tear marks and her eyes had turned red.
Jalal was taken aback.he had not anticipated this.he was worried now,for,jodha had turned away from him.all he wanted was for jodha to listen to him.
"Jodha listen to me,please"he said with utmost desperation.
"Go away from here"she stammered.
"Jodha,you have to hear me out"jalal said as his body tensed up on seeing jodha's ignorance.
"What do I need to hear?what tell me!is it how you planned to kill him or how much you relished it.i trusted you.i believed you because I thought you love me.but you don't shehanshah"she said mockingly.
"It is my fault that I trusted you,because if you would have loved me then you won't make me suffer.what revenge are you taking?is it for demeaning you or not obeying you or for loving you."this was all she was capable of.there was no more strength in her to argue with him or listen to anything.she broke down on the floor and let out a loud cry.
Jalal was terrified .what had happened to Jodha ,he thought?he bent down on his knees and without saying another word took her in his embrace.
She did not resist it this time.she could not .in spite of whatever she thought,there was thus comfort ness in his embrace that calmed her to the core.her mind slowed down and her ragged breaths started following a rhythm.her eyes were shut as she breathed into his chest.
"Don't do this.tell me it's not you"her voice almost begging
"Jodha"he gasped
"Do you think I can do it?"his voice as subtle as could be.
"I don't want to think that"she responded
"Then don't do this to yourself Jodha. i swear upon god that I did not even think about doing such a thing.trust me."
Nuzzling even further in his chest she said"you said you will do anything to break off this marriage "
Jalal realised the root of the entire problem.it was his own fault that made Jodha come to such harsh conclusions.he remembered how concrete his statement was when he talked to her beside the lake.he cursed himself for saying all of it.

The gathered men picked up the corpse and proceeded towards hakim sahiba's room on raja Bharmal's orders.Suryabhan's parents went along as theirs tears flowed down relentlessly.
All the members of raja Bharmal's family ,too,made a step towards more privacy.it was sure that Suryabhan was murdered.raja Bharmal was subjected to a lot of questions and he decided to deal the matter with utmost care.
Rani mainavati stood next to him,gaping at the corpse being carried away ,when she realised jodha was missing.
Amidst all the chaos,she hadn't seen her leave the spot.worried of what might have happened,she darted towards jodha's room.

I said it because I was angry jodha, I can never do anything that jeopardises your life or upsets you in any way.i can take my life for you happiness but never be selfish with you.jodha I love you and that is why I won't ever do such a thing to you,my love for you is greater than any power,any jealousy or any trouble
She opened her eyes and looked at him with her un fathomable eyes.
A single word wasn't spoken but yet everything was understood.
Jalal got up and helped jodha up when they both saw rani mainavati standing at the door.

Firstly I am so sorry guys for going missing for so long.any reason that I give would be an excuse.so I won't.i really missed writing more but certain factors drifted me away.but now I am back and hopefully you will continue to read this story.
