Yes what @BirBabe said id right.. They r eunuchs/zenanas either born hermaphrodite or castrated.. Since they have a male body they r strong n protect the ladies of the harem, plus there was no fear that they would assualt the ladies...
nothing to do with being gay!
also in the movie jodha akbar u would have seen a zenana with jodha.. Nimat.. Same thing...

I knw it had nothing to do with being gay sum1 said crossdressing is really old so the article with babar came to my mind tht is kinda clever but painful tho tnx tho

Well yea the transgender thing makes sense cuz I rmbr in the ramayana one of the rakshas manifested into a celestial woman to distract hanuman from getting the herbs faw lakshmana but I do not understand the gay thing I cannot rmbr seein those things in the mahabarata or ramayna 😕

Hey I had a doubt too! I have very recently started following d show.. So still a bit confused with d characters.. Salima begum is one of jalal's wives right? N rahim is her son? Then he is akbar's son too??? Why do they always say that he is childless?
