Not many would have thought that Juhi Aslam , who played the protagonist in Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo , would find suitable roles after the show ended in April, last year.
However, three-and-a-half feet tall actress went on to feature in The Serial and Qubool Hai . And now, she is back again on the small screen. This time around, she will play a dasi, Zakira, in historical show Jodha Akbar .
She says, "I play dasi to Benazir , who likes Akbar. I would be sporting Anarkalis and other clothes which a dasi would wear."
Where was she all this while? "I was waiting for the right role. I was offered a week-long cameo of an office assistant in Qubool Hai . After that, I left for my hometown to take my B. SC exams and I secured 75% in it," she says.
So, is he optimistic about getting more offers? "I had an intuition that I will get suitable roles, which turned out to be true."
Instead of simply waiting for roles, Juhi kept a back-up plan ready. She attended coaching classes for bank service exams, to pursue a career in the banking industry if everything else fails.
"I chose bank service as an alternate career option. I believe in destiny; whatever happens happens for the best," says she.
