From the precap of Friday, I was under the impression that this discussion of LOVE by 2 ladies who are actually strangers to that word when it comes to Husband wife relation was in continuation with Jodha's forgiveness to Bakshi and Jodha sparing her acquired intelligence to Ruqaiya about love and the lover. But CVs took me for a royal ride by actually making these 2 discuss that very words concerned to them and their common husband, the Jalaluddin.
Ruqaiya lost no time in showing her level when compared to Jodha in Jalal's life by summoning her when she wanted to discuss with Jodha, as a normal practice she would have gone to Jodha. The moment she arrived, she wasted least time in pleasantries and pounced on Jodha looking for an expected answer that "her mind has not change, she had face all these commotion & humiliation, just because of Jalal and hence she hates him more than ever". She wanted to heat the metel while it is hot and freeze Jodha's mind towards Jalal. But unfortunate for her, she got a reply just opposite in effect that Jodha no longer hates him but no love for him also. Yet she is gratified by his gestures in saving her reputation and standing for her as her strength. Hoever her last word hit the mark that "don't worry, he will not like me as much as he likes you"
What Ruqaiya said after that was not to the taste of a Queen. She just talked a raw language that I am ready to share my husband's body with anyone and everyone, but not his love.

See who is talking about whose love? So far Ruqqu was decalring that jalal doesn't have an heart and so loving is ruled out and she owns/rules his mind. Now realization happened that Jalal infact has an heart, that too healthy one which is making summersault towards JOdha Begum. So ensure the point to Jodha, she is telling that, if you want him, you can have him (physically) but not his love. WOW Ruqaiya, way to go.
What else can Ruq say to save her own face? Jalal has not told at all that he lied to save Jodha. She had to hear it from Hoshiyaar!
Jodha also got the hint that Ruqaiaya doesn't love jalal the man, but loves his designation and his power & wealth. She asks her a simple question that do you love him as a man, if he were not a king, you were not his chief begum and his childhood friend. Do you love that man for just him without any tag?????????????
What can Ruqaiya tell her in response when word love came between Jalal & Ruqu was only when Jodha had to accompany Jalal to Dargah to pray for him and never again or before...
Over and above Jodha adds the gee to the fire by saying "having someone and wanting/loving someone is totally different"
So it took Bakshi Banu's treachery to induce the word Love in the mind and heart of tghese 2 stubborn, self-indulging ladies. So now starts the actual love game between Jodha & ruqaiya and who will win the race (Jalal). Ruqaiya will try hard to impress him with lavish birthday preparation whereas Jodha will try to win over his heart just to bring back his dear sister to his side so that he will not crave for her presence during the Jashn by missing her and yet can't ask for her. By hook or crook she will have Jalal's approval to have Bakshi Banu in the birthday celebration.
That is a certainty! That is Jodha's one-point agenda now!
However it is a reality check for both khas begum of jalal. They needed an external force to think about their love for their husband and his love for them.
Bakshi: the topic around which new feelings are growing!
I have nothing much to share here as you have covered up the entire analogy. However only one thing I could tell here is that Jalal has so accustomed to Jodha and he can visualize her approach as well as the reason for her approach. He knows how stubbornness that even before she opens her mouth he shuts her by saying "no more talks on that issue, that is on Jalal forgiving Bakshi Banu". Otherwise it would be waste to show Jodha feeing the pigeons always as pigeons are the brand ambassadors of peace talk.
Jaya, my gutter mind is thinking Jalal could have used some other more physical method of shutting Jodha's mouth, but kya karen, it will all have to remain in my imagination!
Adham and the baandhi girl: the unsavoury side of lust!
I don't know what the exact meaning of Adham (name) is but in our language Adhama means a bad, perverted, sick minded beast of a man and that is what he is here in this story.
He is nothing less than a predator ( may not be in looks) which attracts his victim with their good look and exotic scent. Here he is using gold to a poor child of her early teen to lurr her to his bed.
May be he was ready to marry that girl as there is no restrictions to marry more than one and also he might quote that he is marrying to get a waaris as his wife is not given one yet (may be he is thinking that he can make a nasty joke of Jalal & his begums as whole) which no one can contemplate on. Added to that if someone pinpoints at his mistake and wants to punish him, he can very well quote Bakshi's crime and can plead for forgiveness (mockery of law).
During those days, there was no such rule of a girl has to be 18 years before marriage, infact, I have read that the girls used attain puberty at their sasural after few years of marriage. About the age difference also, there was no law to reprimand an old man to marry a young firl so long as he can provide her with good food and shelter. (When Chalukya emperor Vikramadithya married Chandala Devim, he was in his late fifty's or early sixty's and she was 16 - 18 years old and she married him out of love in a swayamvara because of his bravery.)
Someone has mentioned that even if Jalal and Jodha are unable to stop this wedding, Jalal may make a law later mandating the minimum age for marriage!

Now, he will join hands with Jala's enemies directly and wage war on Agra and also might use the Sujamal trump card to demoralize Jalal's courage.
Please don't even imagine him kidnapping Jodha, I feel llike puking just thinking of him touching Jodha or even eyeing Jodha with that nasty look.
I too just hate the thought. In fact I hope jala will come to know of his lust for Jodha because we will get both - vanquishing of Sharif and also jealousy and possessiveness of Jalal (uff!)😳
