No no Trips and Sun..I do know historical books would have been changed even AKBARNAMA and Jahangirnama have been changed.
Trips, the shouldn't have married after Ruq is a misnomer - the actual translation of the persian script is 'shouldn't have married anyone amongst his own subjects' 😊 since they are like his daughters! I might not be projecting the actual essence here but read those topic..and you can pm Kamal if you want - she has a lot of info!

Books like chronicles of Badayun and historical books that are only currently owned by the Rajput royal descendants gives a more vivid picture -
Citations have all been quoted in History geek's topic (and Kamal has also been following up on all this) Lizzy is another forum member who seems to frequent the Govt libraries...all together, they've gone through 40-50 different sources before saying it... you should read that post - LOTS of info that took my breath away!
Hira Kunwari was a star!

So I'm beginning to place my trust in the fact that there was an Akbar-Hira Kunwari 'special' angle after all ❤️ From those accounts (and diff places) it appears that he really did spoil her and her people as is being shown in the serial!

Yup ..learned, matured, religiously tolerant and diplomatic too...😊

And she was apparently quite argumentative/feisty- but only when with Akbar ...not in public...

Yes. You have got it right.

The statements about monogamy etc have been tampered. I will not call it twisting the words but it is blatant misrepresentation of truth. In a bid to write off jodha-Akbar story, people have actually botched up the great meaning of those statements.

I have also come across the post by a member called history_geek. I will not say I knew all the facts mentioned there but the few I know totally match with what s/he has mentioned there.😊Searching govt. libraries, going through archive require hard work.

Ah ok. I know that he loved her a lot & was inordinately kind to her.
Her real support was Akbar & she was very beautiful!!

Her eyes had humility & simplicity to them. And Akbar really admired her. 😳

I agree with all your pointers on Jodha...but in this instance, I'd reserve my thoughts on Jalal too...the main reason he hasn't spoken to Jodha about this all is because he's NEVER had the opportunity to interrogate her in public about it yet...

Its a HUGE HUGE dart on a man's ego if he knew that his wife had had an affair with another man...and this guy is the Shehenshah - with women vying for HIS attention...

The ONLY reason he's not announced it yet is because his ego will be smashed to smithereens if this came out in public - not because he wants to protect her honour or anything. If Jo had an affair, Jalal will appear just as defamed...the tell-tale 'he could please her, but I couldn't' stigma! This is why he didn't open his mouth in front of Ruqs either - not because he was worried about keeping up Jo's honour. As far as he's currently concerned - if she couldn't care less for him, why him her?

The extent to which he's angry with Jodha is apparent when he proclaimed public stoning upon that adulteress wife who came to him in court!

Me thinks that's why he takes upon the investigation himself too...to preserve HIS honour, not her's. He is the Shehenshah and a man - obviously - ego, honour and respect are what drive him and keep him on that throne. His life'd become a public spectacle if it came out in the public that his wife'd done such a deed (which btw, I've never come across a SINGLE instance in history of ) which again is why this track DOESN'T SIT WELL with me at all!

Lashy I get the drift of what you are saying but again he is the SHAHENSHA, he will care 2 hoots of what others will think and say, nobody will dare question him 'why did you punish your begum' if he did so. No it is not to keep his honor and fame but deep down inside he feels much more for Jodha which he himself is not aware of yet. Or else it wouldn't take him a minute to force himself on her under this situation and again no one will ask him anything about his actions.

Or else it wouldn't have taken him a minute to sentence her to death or something unthinkable like he did to that woman asking for justice yesterday. It has happened before too, remember. That 'bandi' or 'dasi' and her lover were also sentenced to death but Hamida saved them. Again Lashy he is the Shahensha, whether he is right or wrong no body will ask him 'why he did that'.

Jodha completely puts me off with her 'holier than thou' attitude. I hope she realizes today what Jalal has been thinking or implying, that will be a whole new can of worms. I understand Jodha's feelings and she is justified in thinking so but I would have preferred it in privacy. She did it to taint Jalal in front of Ruq and she succeeded. She wanted to be clear to Ruq about her stand in all this.

I am worried and hoping that neither takes any drastic step today..

So, he isn't exactly doing Jodha any favor. Moreover , he's hell bent on finding the culprit in crime first , before making any move. You could see his mind occupied with this thought that who did it, for Jodha couldn't make baby by eating mangoes. So, before making it all public , he needs to find that out too.

Btw Jalal had full intention to tell Ruku every thing he thinks about that matter, what do you think he called Ruku for ?? To talk about war strategies in Istambul ?? But he didn't pushed the matter only because he was hurt that his BFF not believing him n not even ready to hear his side of the story, which is natural reaction. So he didn't stop her when she made for the door.
Jodha didn't include Ruku as 3rd party, Ruku was always part of the whole discussion on Jalal-Jogha nightly affairs, n that was NOT Jodha's doing. It was all Jalal. Ruk wanted every detail n Jalal happily ready to give that.
But of course all faults to Jodha ! Why should she cry that the man with whom she was beginning to paint a future happy picture n beginning to trust n respect proved to be necrophiliac ?? Why indeed ! So very bad of her ! All of a sudden she found herself pregnant with no knowledge of where it came from. It's worse than any nightmare ! But she mustn't cry even in private as that irritates us ! What's exactly is she supposed to do ? Dance in merriment I guess ! Hmm that'd be a very natural reaction.
N it's not that she's throwing a fit or some thing. If Jalal is putting up a fake smile , he's also drawing enough attention from every body n making it obvious to all that's he's mentally turmoiled. But I won't blame him for doing that, because I don't believe judging people according to my own whim, as some people obviously do.
Even Jodha put up a fake smile when HB kissed her head on hearing the news first. Rest she's not all giggly but she's hasn't behaved in any way that gives any one even a hint or suspicion of what mental trauma she's going through. I really don't know how differently she should've behaved.
She already found out that Jalal discusses his night ventures with Ruku as a friend. So she must be sure before insisting her to stay put that Ruku already knows what's there's to know about what transpired that night . N she was just clearing her side of the story.

I don't watch a show to see the male lead against the female, I said earlier also that it is no a show about Jalal vs. Jodha. So if you are siding only with Jodha and feel all the smpathy and feel Jalal is only wrong then this post is not for you. Sorry I don't mean to be rude.

Ruq and Jalal's equation what ever it is is unknown to Jodha, she knows they are very close and they are childhood friends and Ruq is super possessive about Jalal but what they discuss she is unaware of. So she might taunt Ruq about knowing everything from Jalal but the fact is she understood Ruq knew nothing about that night, Jalal had not told her anything and that is why Jodha clarified to her earlier about that night which is great of Jodha because she didn't need to. It was not Ruq's business anyway. Similarly even yesterday Ruq was not required in that conversation. Period!

If you read my posts well, you will know I praise both Jodha and Jalal equally and if I criticize, I do that to both their characters. Both are right and wrong here but the question here is about ther reactions. Put yourself in the 16th century in the conservative, rigid and strict Mughal royal family and then judge who and why and when they were wrong.

And if I blame any one it is the CV's I blame because they are making a mockery of hstory, Jalal and Jodha.

My another question is was there ever any Muslim couple in 16th century where the wife was an adulteress and she dared to come to court asking for justice from the Emperor in getting her divorced from her legal husband and then marrying her lover???? She was pregnant and out of her wedlock and she was not ashamed of it and demanded a divorce???

CV's what world do you all live in? Seriously!?

People or kids who are not too acquainted with history will be all under a wrong notion that India was so advanced back then, no it was not! India was advanced before the Mughal rule and not during or after that.

Aap log kuch bhi dikhate ho!!
