I love you. I can die for you. I will never leave you.I trust you. Of course, I will stand by you. I've got your back. I'll come from any corner of the world for you. Call me at 3.00am and I will come running to you.
Sounds familiar? Of course. You and I make these promises or should i say sweepingly ridiculously overconfident promises every now and then. And a few ones make these promises to us.But...its the CRITICAL POINT , the CLIFFHANGER, the SPLIT SECOND slip between the cup and the lip that decides how authentic our commitment is and if the muscle of our resolve is of the same weight as our WORDS.
And most of the time, most of us FAIL , in the prelims. We are fragile, vulnerable , always walking a tight rope and it doesn't matter how strong or weak we appear on the surface. And faith is something that is the strongest when it has cleared the test of fire , and its weakest until the other one proves to be a true faith-keeper.
Failure of trust and faith is not a crime. You are human. You are vulnerable. And you become defeatable because trust and faith are something that someone ELSE has to keep for you. Its not a one-man or a one-woman project.
Taking from that, today. Jodha and Jalaal, both of them appeared in the prelim exam and they failed in it. Sadly.Miserably. Unfortunately.
1. Jodha, without even once questioning Jalaal, went back to her original thought that Jalaal had sexually assaulted her in her slumber ( don't get into hows and whys because as far as a woman's sexual response and sense is considered, Indian TV and films are still doing jives in 1980s. )... Not even once did the thought " Ye nahiin ho sakta" cross her mind. Her shaky faith in Jalaal collapsed in front of a fact. Believable. If you are told you are pregnant , well, then, unless proven otherwise, you are pregnant.
2. Jalaal, without even once confronting Jodha, went back to his " everyone is trying to betray and backstab poor me" psychology - reverting to his typically trained mind that can write a whole thesis on " Takht Taaj aur Saazish". Not even once did it cross his mind that " Ye Jodha hai, ye aisaa nahin kar saktee". His developing faith in Jodha collapsed like a pack of cards when slapped with a 'fact' that his wife is pregnant..
And what does this tell you? It tells you all of the following :
A. Jodha and Jalaal's relationship is still an embryo. It needs cementing , nurturing, understanding , so that all ghosts of the past are released , their first impressions and prejudices are released. Only then, faith can find its footing and trust can start setting up a fort. JJ proved today that their so-called faith in each-other (Jodha- He will never touch me without my permission and Jalaal- Come what may , you will never harm me) bit dust at the very first hurricane.
B. JJ proved the tale -and-moral-immemorial that to say you trust someone ,and to stick to it when crisis strikes are two different things. Just a few episodes ago, Jodha was fighting the world for Jalaal and Jalaal was doing his best to protect and melt Jodha. Beautiful. And here comes one twist of fate , and they left each-other's hands.
C. The very fact that Jodha and Jalaal did not deem it necessary to confront each-other or even speak to each-other , and reverted to their "Dhoka dhoka dhokha! Khaaya khaaya khaaya!" shells proves that JJ may be becoming friends, they maybe seeing each-other's good sides , they maybe working at this marriage, but their inner demons and their susceptibility to outer demons is still bigger than what they have for and with each-other.
I am not judging JJ and am not saying who is right who is wrong, because the situation is such - declaration of a pregnancy for a couple that has not even touched each-other. They are human and trust/faith is vulnerable - especially for them.
So, all I will say is that this pregnancy track should be a lesson for both of them. If you will choose your prejudice and your own 'story-written-directed-produced -in-my-head' , then, there will always be just one person in this relationship - You. All alone.
For the rest, I loved Jalaal's gift to Jodha and how touched Jodha was. She placed that peacock feather and murli on Lord Krishna. The symbolism and meaning runs so deep. BEAUTIFUL.
P.S- I had to check the producer's name again. The fake pregnancy drama was handled with dignity and class , and not like other shows of EK ( or even the zindaa-jalaa-denge track ) where 7 episodes are spent in showing everyone's reaction and some really disturbing melodrama. JJ are shattered but till now, with the exception of Moti, they have kept it between themselves. 😆
P.P.S- Please don't litter my post with bashing and venting. I find nothing wrong with this track, I like the way it was handled in today's episode and I DON'T judge people. Definitely not on the matter of faith and trust , the tests of whose people fail every second or third day. 😳
