You know, my dear, when one is very weak from loss of blood and near delirious, one says strange things. So Jalal starts on his pet theme when his nemesis confesses for the second time about her kaarnama. That of course sets her off on one of her Hyde Park soapbox lectures, till she suddenly remembers that she has a badly injured man on her hands, and that because of her folly, and shuts up.

And thank you for liking my didactic, argumentative and decidedly unromantic take on the whole. I am continually astonished and gratified that I not only have a readership here for my kind of analyses, but such a very kind and supportive readership!

And there is nothing much of torture, is there? She gets 3 slaps from Ruqaiya, which was 3 too little, and then Hamida shields her from everything, and as far as they showed us, no one even abuses her to her face. So what torture?

Unless you meant the torture for us, of having to watch her endlessly weepy (and still bloodstained - don't her maids take care to at least wipe her face) face and the same joda, which, however, seems to have dried out nicely and looks ok after all that wear and tear! Perhaps some 16th century version of a no iron fabric! Why on earth does she stand around for what looks like days in the same dress?

Maybe you mean the emotional stress and the trauma. Well, she asked for it with her self-righteous meddling and presumption, so she is now paying for her folly. It all comes from being constantly praised to the skies and told that you can do no wrong. It goes to her head. Maybe this will be a salutary lesson for her, but somehow I doubt it As soon as this bout of unaccustomed guilt is past, she will go back to her old preachiness.

But I must say that Paridhi was very convincing in that mode. She looked hollowed out with worry and grief and guilt.

So don't worry. The high fever must be a side effect of that lep, and it will pass by the time that dilatory hakim from Gwalior arrives, and then Jalal, once he regains consciousness, will ask for Jodha, if only to reassure her and also to make sure that the other do not railroad her into some kind of punishment.

Thanks a lot, and I would grant you all of that, though what would you bet that once the shock of this crisis has passed, she will get back to being Begum Goody Two Shoes?

But as for Jalal taking some of the blame on himself, how can he do that when Jodha Begum has done everything, short of hiring a town crier, to spread the word about her being the guilty party? I had suggested earlier that he would shield her by saying that the narnaal had jammed, but that is all out now.

All in all ti was a good episode, as for romance in yesterday's episode, I guess its just not possible to show romance at this stage, it will be a gradual process. The episode belonged to Paridhi and Rajat esply totally. Rajat's acting in those scenes was outstanding, i was so moved. Paridhi too outdid herself, loved her acting to the core.

Yes, at this stage Jodha is shown to be very very immature, but maybe this incident would be a starting point of her growth too. This incident would make her realise the importance of Akbar in her life and bring them even closer. my guess is that after regaining consciousness, Akbar would support Jodha and being some of the blame on himself.
