I'd started typing it as I do for every episode...
The pair continue on their trek through the thick jungle - wild-calls of the forest encircling them on all sides. The weather starts turning against them - the breeze now beginning to seem more like winds! A short while later, birds begin fluttering away while the monkeys on trees start scampering about. Jalal grows excited. Being the experienced hunter that he was, he knew that the signs indicated the presence of a dangerous animal nearby!
However, he fails to mark the growing concern in Jodha's face as his gazes trail the forest for a glimpse of the beast he was hoping to hunt.
Suddenly a few guttural growls of a tiger begin echoing around them - Jalal aims his rifle at various directions - gauging which direction the roar could be emanating from.
All this while; while the Emperor is enjoying the thrill of the sport - Jodha's fear only escalates - and for reasons she alone knew. For a moment, she even takes shelter behind the King as she surveys her harrowing environment!
Eventually, the couple's apprehensions are confirmed - it was a tiger indeed - and a ferocious one that was weighing them as prey. Having studied its prey from various angles, it'd finally made it's presence known as it stood a short distance away - in all of it's mighty glory!
Hastily trying to make up for her actions, Jodha instantly sets aside a branch and picks up two flint-stones to make a fire. Thankfully, her instincts didn't succumb to her dread and she successfully manages to arm herself with a burning branch in her hand.
Just as the more-than-pleased-to-face-the-prey Jalal takes his aim at the tiger that was now beginning to slowly approach them, Jodha eventually blurts out the dismal truth that had been eating her 'Shehenshah...' she whimpers 'I'd removed the bullets from the rifle, before we'd started on the hunt!'
It took him a moment to process the catastrophical tidings she'd just updated him on - the colour from his face draining as he did so!
I stopped after that - couldn't type... I was so consumed by it all...😊
So, its more a general review of the episode rather than an AKDHA prose...
1) The tiger scene was just as spectacular as promised...as realistic as we'd hoped...Kudos to CVs for that! The build-up to it was amazing! Lasted for more than 6-7 minutes which by JA standards is a LONG scene. So realistic that Jodha's fire got extinguished - after all, that would have happened. Just as expected, Jalal found his khanjar on time - all of it made perfect sense! 👏 Take a bow Jodha, Jalal, Mohan and CVs
2) Jodha's rescue attempts - That rain-filled conversation before he passes out, Jodha dragging Jalal to the horse, lifting him, tying him with that twig, her supporting his head on her shoulder, her tears, her rage, her flashbacks, her dishevelled hair, the few moments she took to regroup herself as his forehead rested against hers, his blood on her Sindoor, her dread, her confessing that she'd COME TO PRAY FOR HIM NOT MOURN HIM, her ASKING HIM FOR FORGIVENESS (Everyone seems to have missed this monumental bit!) - all of it was spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why, they even showed Jalal tumbling off after a while since the twig wasn't sufficient to hold on to him (that part I felt a lump in my throat)...now WHICH SERIAL has shown us something as dramatic as this?
All of this that she did was really praise-worthy and she lived up to her name as a true Rajputani - a brave lady who didn't give up. [Yet, we must also remember that the backlash at the palace was justified. Her actions before that i.e. disarming him were ridiculous!]
3) Spoilers promised us Jodha nursing Jalal and some sparks during the course of that!
It was US who assumed its going to be in the solitude of the forest with a LOT of lovey dovey happening then!
Look at it this way, the CVs have played it so realistically - Jodha decided to take him back to Agra where he'd receive the best treatment. The manner in which the doctors rushed to tend to him, the manner in which MA had to take charge of the Army - THAT's how it would have been had an Emperor been wounded thus. The thrilling scene when the doctors rushed to make everything ready for him reminded me of a scene from 911 Emergency/Doctors...I had goosebumps as I saw it! Yes, we'd all envisioned something different, but this was no less! Had Jodha and Akbar been missing for 4-5 days in the forest, technically the Sultanat would be in mayhem!
Also, if his injuries were so serious, Jodha tending to him with some paste and herbs in the forest might be tantalizing, but not realistic!
This is another place the CVs have disappointed (???) us because they chose to show something realistic!
4) Confession at Agra - Jodha's come and confessed everything NOW to everyone - so its all done and dusted with...without all of this, the truth would have been coming out in trickles to each and every lady for the next 1 month and Jodha tormented every time that happened!
5) Nursing - One nurses a patient AFTER the surgery or initial treatment...so why has everyone assumed Jodha has no chance of nursing him henceforth. She is the NURSE NOT THE DOCTOR, remember! Yes, she's going to be taunted and bullied by the Harem ladies, but despite ALL of that she'll taken it upon herself to tend to him (I'm hoping) and that's what will make Jalal realize what she's made of!
6) Reaction in Agra - When a queen comes and tells the Royal household of what she'd done, what do you expect...Ruqaiyya (like it or not) is senior to Jodha now in position, status and her love for Jalal...her reaction is expected...besides, has it been documented anywhere that Senior queens didn't raise their hand in retaliation upon their junior co-habitants in the harem?
Let's not throw our arms up and give up so soon girls...with this track, I still think the CVs know what they're doing...its a pity if you decided to give such an episode a miss...when they show something that't not realistic we make fun of them, and when they do - why rebuke them for it?😆 Come on girls...
Obviously, I hope they don't cheat me and make me eat my words for laying my trust in them...
