Mansi,
A very nice take on a very nice episode. I do not quite agree with your take on the exchanges in the garden, for it is not just quibbling and teasing from his side - he really does not want her going to Ajmer with him, probably thinking that she will give him baddua there instead of dua. I felt that the lines had a sharper edge to them on both sides.
Only one small correction re: your He resigns from the event by saying he cannot face his mother on this and she too declares she cannot tackle Hamida either.
What he really says is Kahin aapko yeh to nahin lagta hai ki hum apni Ammijaan ka saamna nahin kar sakte? which is the opposite of saying that he cannot face her on this matter, and is in line with what he offers to do when discussing this earlier with Ruqaiya.
It is Jodha who responds to that with Humein aapke bar mein to nahin jaante, par hum Ammijaan ko mana nahin kar sakte.
As for the precap, Jodha was ridiculous. She seems to think he is acting fresh with her - and he is her lawfully wedded husband! - and it never occurs to her that if he was so inclined, he could have forced himself on her any day and every day. Any kind of judge of character she most assuredly is not.
One wonders, by the way, if Jalal understands what ashobaniya aacharan means. But I suppose that even if he does not, he can get the general drift of things from the way she reacts. I wish the snake had slithered up her pillow instead, would have been a good lesson for her to have to yell for help to the unwanted husband.
