I have seen this in my village in south Karnataka but no one grows it there intentionally but it grows on ots own and it is dangerous even to animals. As rule (or may instinct), even animals don't eat this in fields but if is consumed without knowledge (may be mixed in hey) cows and other animals will have problems. If the consumption is more, it could be fatal.
