What an awesome post Aunty...

I loved jalal's dialogues to ma-ak duo...shows his intelligence at such a young age...how old is he...musr be only 20, rite
Second scene was jodha's hesitation and her behaviour in hammam...which was not at all missed by jalal...he sees her discomfirt.

Jalal ke baare mein kya bolu...rajat has such a marvellous screen presence...purrfect boy-man...a TEASE...

Sonya, thank you, but why on earth would I not agree with you on this?

Aha, apni Jodha as a slinky, seductive femme fatale! I would love that, and I would go completely with the part @ blue. That is what I meant in one of my earlier posts about her finding cards to play against not just Ruqaiya, but Jalal as well.

In her place, I would have marched up to the hamaam and started not just pouring the milk (Cleopatra used to bathe in ass milk; I wonder what Jalal preferred!😉) but scrubbing his back (let us leave it there for the present!😉) vigorously, and then his hair as well. That would have larned him, as the cowboys would say.

Alas, our Jodha is too properly brought up for that, but I have hopes of her yet, for I did notice that she was not upset about the pouring routine at all, not really.

As for my 'praising Jalal's antics', why my dear, by now you should know that I like bad boys, since my all time favourite is Rhett Butler! Jalal is mischievous and cunning in getting his own way, and I love that. I only wish,as you do, that Jodha could play his game as well.

No, I do not think he meant to place her at the same level as his baandis. I think he just wanted to see how far he could unsettle her by making her come close to him and stay close to him for a while, and he was delighted with the outcome of his little stratagem. This one belongs back in my Cat and Mouse category.

As for his stated determination not to touch her, what nonsense! I never believed that for an instant. That was just a cover up for a hurt - You don't want me! Why, whatever gave you the idea that I wanted you? Want? I am not going to touch you. Plus I will make your life an endless misery. So there! Every bit as childish as that. If she really tried her hand at playing Delilah, all this would go out of the window in a nanosecond.

As for her wanting to hide the truth about their marriage from her parents, that is standard issue soapy stuff, for all soaps thrive on things having to be hidden from someone or the other. In fact I was quite dismayed when this old chestnut surfaced here as well, but then it led to the deliciously wicked hamaam interlude, so I was prepared to overlook this cliche.

Oh Shyamala Aunty, I do enjoy reading your posts...even if I hate it when you praise Jalal's antics...

Didn't Jalal just say that jodha's status would be raised if he touched her? Well what does his action of having her alone attend to him while taking a bath do to her? He might rationalize it that he is making her do something for him that his maids usually do, however I take a much different perspective and I'm sure the other ladies in the Harem would view this task different as well.

You are right that this scene is definitely a delight...however I saw Jodha's strength re-surface in this scene...so let me explain and it may be possible that you agree with me...just maybe..

First, I don't think Jodha realized where she was going when asked to speak with the Shenshah, so suddenly does she avert her back and pull her dupata forward. However, she does not back down.

This is very important to her. Regardless of what is going on between her and Jalal, that her parents only see a united front, a positive image and leave Agra thinking that their daughter ultimately is being treated well. For once...we see Jodha actually living up to a strong and devoted daughter ready to do her duty with no qualms or hesitation...no small feat when it comes to asking for something from the one person who has just said their whole goal is to make her life a living hell.

So, without any hesitation she stands her ground and requests what she wants. This is excellent...because without her asking for it, she actually has no idea what Jalal is going to do. He might very well put up a fake front in front of her family, but he might do exactly what she is in fear of...let them know just how miserable he is going to make her. (I personally don't think he would do that, but Jodha doesn't know this)

She battled with the idea of not asking him, but her maid is right, albeit for the wrong reasons, to urge Jodha in requesting this from him. Jodha knows that Jalal will do anything to hurt her...she even somehow manages to explain away him not punishing Maan Singh... This is all because she can not and will not see anything positive in any decision Jalal takes for the moment. She has a one dimensional thinking when it comes to Jalal and that is guiding all of her actions when it comes to him and one of the reasons why Jalal right now seems to have the upper hand.

But this reality of him having the upper hand could so quickly be used against him. If Jodha , upon him demanding that she bath him... (oh what a beautiful and deliciously wicked scene, especially when he threw the cup in the water..)...went up to him with confidence instead of this timid girl that we saw, then the tables could be turned in a second.

Jalal has already said, he doesn't want to touch her, becuase he doesn't want her to think shes important...OH how beautiful would it have been if she used the same confidence with which she put forward her request, she went to him and started bathing him.

This is the singular flaw that I see in Jodha - she wears her emotions on her sleeve and Jalal is able to read her like an open book
. Soon...oh I hope soon...we see Jodha realize that her very sexual appeal is something that she can use to reduce Jalal to smithereens, along with remaining aloof and distant and having him know that she has no interest in him. Oh that is when the real game would begin in my opinion...but for some reason, I highly doubt they are going to turn Jodha into a temptress, with Jalal wanting to have her but not being able to, because of the very limitations he has imposed on their relationship...at no time has Jodha actually said he can not exercise his husbandly rights...this is all of Jalal's making adn its going to come back to haunt him.

As for the precap - oh I can't wait...

Another superb post Shyamala Aunty.
I really like today's Akdha's scene mainly because they both although had such an intense confrontation that last time they met were able to talk to each other be it a civil manner.I thought the naughtiness from Jalal was enacted perfectly by Rajat. One must say this guy grows on you. Those deadly looks that Jalal gave whilst being semi naked and realising the proximity of his discomfort Begum. Here's a pic for us to reminisce in...😳
Jalal was thoroughly enjoying himself.I loved Jodha little pout when he said that the Emperor doesnt like and wont like for you.I didnt think that Jalal would have aired his dirty laundry in front of the Rajputs simply because he may have his problems with Jodha but he has said it so many times that he will protect her from everyone and makes sure he gets her deserved respect as his Begum.I dnt know why but Jodha has to lossen up a bit.I guess her hatred and close proximity to him are too much for her to overcome in just one night. Her reluctancy and hesitationg was making this Empeor even more mischeivious.Dropping the jug in the water so that she uses her hand.Jalal is apparently obsessed with Jodha's hans whilst her battle for his head has been aborted or postponed.
These killer looks, victorious smile and expressions can really make a heart go thadap thadap

Thank you once again for your delightful insight. I couldn't agree more that yesterday's episode was one of the most delightful as well as entertaining one so far.
After the other night fiasco who could have imagined that we are in for such a treat😉😛. I loved the way Jalal dealt with Jodha. And Rajat's expressions were just like icing on the cake.
However precap definitely gets a thumbs down. Whats with the the mirchi powder obsession with these CVs😕? Hope they come out with something different other than what we are all expecting.

And yes, please do take care of yourself😊.

The episode was a delight...and so is your post...👍🏼

Jalal and mansingh- As the clich goes 'heere ki parakh jauhari ko hoti hai'...Jalal is a far sighted individual...he has seen raw potential in maan Singh...by taking maan Singh under his wings jalal has earned himself a trustworthy man...

Mahamanga - no wonder..for a long time jalal was under her grip...nothing seems to escape her eyes...she never takes anything at face value...and, she is the first one to sense that a storm is brewing...

Jalal and jodha - agree with every word you have said aunty...jodha was in unfamiliar terrain...to top it, jalal knows this play field so well 😉...and, One thing is for sure...jodha was not angry...she was rattled, embarrassed, uncomfortable (and i don't blame her☺️)but not angry...jalal sensed jodha was in disarray...much to his pleasure...the smirk said it all...

Special mention - when jalal stops jodha and says "yeh batate jayiye ki humein kehna kya"...i think, it is the first husband-wife kind of interaction of jalal-jodha...

Precap -I don't see jalal reacting in front of every one...maham will definitely get an attack...😉

P.S.- I hope you are doing well aunty...take rest and take care...😊

My eyes are not yet ok, Suvi, so I am trying to stay off the laptop during the day (not entirely successfully, as you can see!😉), but I am a little better than 2 days ago, when my left eye (it is always the left one for me, wrist, eye, whatever) was doing its best to imitate an over ripe tomato. I am getting there, even if slowly.

As for your comments, I agree in toto. Especially as regards @blue, which is a very perceptive and accurate comment that even I had not thought of.

No, Jalal, as I wrote in the post, will say nothing, but if Jodha tries the same dish later, it will be interesting to see what she does then.

I absolutely agree with your post. This has been the most delightful and sensual episode of the show, not to mention the most reveling as well. I was hoping for a proper Akdha interaction, however, I am still a bit dazed to properly form sentences to describe the awesomeness that was the hamam scene. Did you notice, how he rolls his head forward and backward in pleasure when Jodha was pouring the milk? Lovely. The scene was deeply sensual, even without a single touch between them.

And with Maan Singh, I was quite sure that Jalal will not take any horrible measures against him. I don't understand why people were thinking that. We have seen enough of Jalal to know that he is not cruel without a reason. He always does things for a reason. I actually also really liked the Sharif-Sujamal interaction. and the scene where Sujamal throws his pagri off. Very symbolic. I believe this interaction will play an important part in Akdha relationship. Since Sharif will not inform Jalal about Sujamal, Jalal will be unaware of the fact that Sujamal is Jodha's cousin. Which takes us to the jealousy and the separation track that is to come later.

P.S Please do take care of your health. Get well soon. 😊
