Disha,

Can you give me a brief review of DharamVeer? When was it aired and for how long?

Yes, I agree that the present Bharmal looks far better in this show.

shyamala aunty,DharamVeer aired right after Rajat finished Prithviraj Chauhan.

it aired between january 2008-november 2008 in ndtv imagine :) it was a sagars show and they came around with the show obviously because of Rajat's huge fan following during PRC. 😆

It was a good show.the sagars are simply the best when it comes to periodic drama :)

The story was about two best friends(and cousins),Dharam and Veer(played by Rajat)

It was a fictitious story, set in ancient India,in a kingdom called Aryanagar. It spoke of how the shramiks(moreso, the harijans) were ill--treated by the upper class(the aryavrats)

Veer's character was a stunner! He actually was a shramik, but nobody knew (including him)because his mother(the king's sister) had adopted him when he was just a baby.

the story revolved around the friendship between the two friends, thier relationships and their lives.and how it went for a toll when Veer realises he is a shramik.Veer takes an oath to free his people. But the catch was ,he had to revolt against his brother,Dharam, which he NEVER would have done. But he did.

Veer was more or a less a messiah to his people :)

The best thing about the show is the bond dharam and veer shared.just beautiful.

Rajat was spectacular here as well.Veer being full of life, jovial and extremely warm.Would do anything for his brother

Dharam was played by Vikrant Massey.

have u seen lootera?Ranvir's best friend in the movie?Thats vikrant.he was seen in baaba aisa varr dhoondho, balika vadhu and more recently in qubool hai.

Haha, really? It's like Ekta is trying to build up the entire show around Rajat. Mainly with people he has worked with before, that is. Which is rather wise of her. 😉

@shyamala aunty : in this particular episode,Veer is actually disguised as shambo 😆 We used to call Rajat master of disguises 😎 because even in PRC,he wud be given various roles within a single role and then even with DharamVeer. And see, even, now in JA,the same :P first the rajput raja get up and then the sainik 😆

Thank you so much, Disha dear. That is a very neat and clear summing up.

I am sure this one too must have done well, so I wonder why Rajat, who was already playing near adult roles with this one, was wasted for 4 years more. You must all have really missed him in the interim.

Such a pity, but I suppose one should be grateful he was rediscovered for Jodha Akbar. I hope he gets some good films, like Sushant Singh Rajput, and becomes a big star in films. He can cope with that, I am sure.

No, my dear, I have not seen Lootera, but I will try and look at this Dharam Veer and see him there instead.
