Brb dying of hysterical laughter after the historical inaccuracies.
Thank Heavens EK has introduced the longest disclaimer ever in the history of television for the show.
Edit: Ok, back now. Forget history, because I have (The coming to the sasural before marriage, leaving Surya and Jodha alone after it caused such a ruckus before, the whole thing with the mom in law), forget all that. EK's Jodha-Akbar exists in an alternate dimension where history is not as we remember it, but as she creates it.
Surya-Jodha remain adorable- so sweet the two of them! Aww! But what I like best is that Jodha's regard for Surya is so closely tied to her hate of Jalal. She "loves" him because he is the ideal Rajput, and he is the ideal Rajput because he believes Mughal's are the great enemy and wants Jalal's head. Even before marriage, Jalal permeates her relationship with Suryabhan. That isn't to say I don't enjoy the Jodha-Surya relation, I do and think that in any other circumstance they would be perfect for each other, but its a fun thing to note, knowing that she marries Jalal later on.
It's kinda the same for Jalal too. I know the past eps have been a little ugh (Ruq-Jalal, I know you, I know you, on and on and on) but look at this epi- she tells him that she has the portrait made of him from memory, implying again that she knows him best and rules his soul, and he of course engages in banter with her.
But afterwards, he does not ask the painter to come and paint a picture of his favorite begum- no he asks her to paint a picture of Jodha, precisely because he cannot wait for a painter to has seen her to come into his palace. The lady can paint exact replicas without looking at the person in question? Perfect, paint me Jodha! Then, I can look upon her without flashbacking all the time!
And of course he sets fire to the painting later on😆
I think the SBS segments are al least a week, 10 days ahead because we are entering into the whole war prep scenario shown in the July 3rd promo next week.
