Aneek has gone. People, for god sakes at least let him go in peace. I'm extremely happy that he left us with some superb performances on this show.
I would like to say a few words for some people here who have been making digs at Bengalis on this forum not only in this show, but many other previous shows. They are trying to give justification for the reason for writing what they wrote. It's not really necessary.
Like mdroy said, Aneek was Kirkire's favorite more than anyone else's. He got the highest marks from him always and there was always a glow on his face whenever he lovingly called him rosogulla. Please make a note that when Kirkire gave high points to Vaishali or Nihira, every Bengali applauded. And that's because they felt that they truly deserved it. No one ever felt that he did it because he was biased. Whenever anyone sang well including Sreeram, Irfan, Rehman etc they all cheered.
We call ourselves proud to be Indians. India, a great country that houses so many languages, religions and cultures. And yet why do we continue to be so close-minded? Remember VandeMataram and Jana Gana Mana. Both are composed by 2 greats whose mother tongue though Bengali belong to the whole of India. Remember Sare Jahan Se Achha, composed by Iqbal. He is revered by one and all. Remember the legends like Lataji, Ashaji, Amjad Ali Khan, Ustaad Bismillah Khan. Bengali was not their mother tongue... have they been brought down by Bengalis? The answer is a resoundng no. My humble request to all here. Please don't use India Forum as a forum to promote narrow regionalism.
