Aneek has gone. People, for god sakes at least let him go in peace. I'm extremely happy that he left us with some superb performances on this show.

I would like to say a few words for some people here who have been making digs at Bengalis on this forum not only in this show, but many other previous shows. They are trying to give justification for the reason for writing what they wrote. It's not really necessary.

Like mdroy said, Aneek was Kirkire's favorite more than anyone else's. He got the highest marks from him always and there was always a glow on his face whenever he lovingly called him rosogulla. Please make a note that when Kirkire gave high points to Vaishali or Nihira, every Bengali applauded. And that's because they felt that they truly deserved it. No one ever felt that he did it because he was biased. Whenever anyone sang well including Sreeram, Irfan, Rehman etc they all cheered.
We call ourselves proud to be Indians. India, a great country that houses so many languages, religions and cultures. And yet why do we continue to be so close-minded? Remember VandeMataram and Jana Gana Mana. Both are composed by 2 greats whose mother tongue though Bengali belong to the whole of India. Remember Sare Jahan Se Achha, composed by Iqbal. He is revered by one and all. Remember the legends like Lataji, Ashaji, Amjad Ali Khan, Ustaad Bismillah Khan. Bengali was not their mother tongue... have they been brought down by Bengalis? The answer is a resoundng no. My humble request to all here. Please don't use India Forum as a forum to promote narrow regionalism.

From the original post author:

I never meant to say anything about bengali or otherwise...so many people have commented on those lines...all i was saying was that Aneek's performance was NOT PERFECT and as we all know, whether singers or otherwise, that 10 means PERFECT...or atleast with no mistakes, if ANEEK made mistakes in the first para, plain singing lines in the beginning...HOW DID SHAAN GIVE HIM 10?? Thats my Q. Would he have given that to anyone incl. Akanksha? Sreeram? NEVER...i am not saying bengali or any other language bias...am just saying that is WRONG JUDGEMENT...from someone who claims to be fair...at this stage in competition its incprrcet to give a singer 10 when he did not sing the entire song correctly...technically cprrect
Even if Sreeram sng correct, its OK if he does not get 10 cos one has to be really impress the judges to get 10, understandable, but giving one person 10 with tech issues in song...NO WAY there is a hidden agenda...other judges Alka por whoever i could nto care less, Shaan i thot was really fair...but am glad life has a way of putting these peoples judgement in place...i like ANEEK much more than Akansha, he def deserves to be in top 3, no 2 Q about it, but i did not agree with Shaan judgement that particular day!

Varshaji:

I know that you are a true music lover and I know that you have no regional biases whatsoever.

I just felt that the judges comments were mostly on point from the episodes that I have seen. I think that sometimes the scoring did not go with their comments and I really think that the standards were not consistent for all of the performers. So someone like Akanksha gets consideration for being an untrained singer and then someone like Nihira get majorly nitpicked and underscored.

I have never seen any regional biases from any judges as a general rule on any show all of these years of watching these music shows. Really i have not. Sure the public has regional biases and I think that one reason why Anwesha and Aneek were in the bottom is because they split the Bong vote. I really have been impressed with Shaan's commentary for the most part. Having said that I agree with Vaishali's comments on the Sharib debacle. I just really felt like the ranking results were upside down.

Nice to see that people read my post though:) Hardly have time to even read these days. Aloke is really enjoying JJWS and that is the break that I get:).
