Anandji ready to Jjhoom
Anandji who has made superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman and Mala Sinha sing to his tunes was piqued when he was approached to judge a singing contest Jjhoom India that has a TV actor paired with a professional singer. " Some of these singers have learnt from me so it would be a test for them too, " smiles the veteran composer. Singers are trying hard to teach their partners the technique of breathing while crooning on the mike. "These days it's not enough to be good in sur or tal, one has to have a good technical knowledge," informs Anandji whose troupe performs a lot of stage shows. The composer is the only judge connected to music on the show. The others comprise Mahesh Bhatt and Shabana Azmi. Won't there be a lot of differences between them? "Shabana will look for diction and performance, Mahesh will observe the body language and I will concentrate on sur and tal," informs Anandji adding that differences are bound to be there but "it will be for the betterment of the show".
