One thing that I've constantly been reading in the articles that have been posted is that "The news came as a shock considering Shantanu was crowd favourite" or something along those lines.

HE WAS CROWD FAVOURITE. He had so many celebrities on his side asking people to vote for him. He had the support of all of his well-wishers (and trust me there are a lot of us). In fact, I am 100% sure that Shantanu had more votes than any of the other contestants.

Hardly anyone even knows Teriya!!! She's not popular on social media. She did DID L'il Masters okay, but Shantanu has done a whole range of shows, including serials, episodics and who can forget WOD and America's Got Talent!! There is no way that Teriya could have won if the voting system was fair!!

This is such a big joke!! If Salman had won I would have been upset, but still I would understand because he has also been there since Day 1 with Shantanu, but I cannot accept Teriya as a winner. She got ELIMINATED!!! Her journey should have ended there.

It's okay to say that Shantanu is the true winner... but its not the same as being the actual winner. He wanted to use the prize money to build a dance academy where he could teach underprivileged children 😭 It was never about the fame for him.

I have lost all faith in Colors and Jhalak...

Yes he once said that if he wanted fame, he would have stayed in acting. Yep dirty politics ..

I just feel so bad because that's his biggest dream and winning Jhalak would have helped him so much in getting one step closer to achieving it.

Guyz isn't shan really amazing like he is telling us not to bash them even though those people used him for trps and dumped him. No one would be that cool about that. But here's our shan facing every hurdles with a big smile on his face. I'm really proud to be his fan. A big salute to this guy.

Shantanu Maheshwari deserved the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9 trophy, feel fans!

This year Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is truly different. Unlike other years, where we had atleast one non-dancer making it to the finale, all the three this year are known for their dancing prowess. We had a great line-up with top TV stars likeArjun Bijlani, Shakti Arora, Siddhant Gupta and Helly Shah. Plus, there were glam gals like Karishma Tanna and Nora Fatehi who set the stage on fire. And who can forget Surveen Chawla who put up a couple of truly smashing acts. Plus, there were the wild card contestants. The season was a huge drag with no TRPs to speak of.

Anyways, it was Dance India Dance Li'l Champs winner Teriya Magar, world hip hop champ Shantanu Maheshwari and one of India's finest dancers and Jhalak's blue-eyed boy Salman Yusuff Khan who made it to the finale. They are some of the nation's best but sadly not in sync with the show's essence of the journey of a non-dancer to a dancer. We have seen soap stars winning it year after year but the trend changed from last year when Faisal Khan walked away with the trophy. We conducted a poll on whom did fans feel was the most deserving winner of the show. Not surprisingly, it was Shantanu Maheshwari. (Also Read: Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9 winner: Teriya Magar, former Dance India Dance winner takes home the trophy)

The young man is known for his win at world hip hop championships and is a teen star with shows like D3 and MTV's Girls on Top in his kitty. Shantanu consistently wowed everyone throughout the show with varied performances that ranged from Robotics, Broadway, Folk and Hip-Hop. Everyone has been smitten with his flexibility, expressions and desire to present something different. It is evident why 50% of voters felt that he should have won the premiere dance reality show
