I think the reason is they spent too much money on Shahid. He is the star of the season. He won the filmfare last year. Not a star of the past like Madhuri. They cant afford another host.

The old judges like Madhuri and Remo were good. They know good dances, Ganesh is good as well but not better than Remo and Lauren needs to be more critical with other contestants as well. The only contestant I see her giving good advice to is Sanaya. She should be the same with the rest too because they all have flaws that could use some improvement.

Only GOOD thing about this season

I was really expecting Shahid, Lauren, Ganesh to be much more strict with their comments and scoring, considering the knowledge and experience of dance they have. But they are just handing out 8s, 9s, and even 10s so easily. I don't think there has been such an extraordinary or amazing performance yet that deserves a 10. All contestants have room for improvement and by giving some of them 10s, I feel the judges are making them think they are already doing the best.
