I don't believe in the concept of space in a relationship!'
The long-legged lass causes a furore wherever she walks. She has the bod that many dream of but few are aware that at heart, she is a very emotional person. A typical Gemini, Shilpa Shetty accepts that there are many things on her mind at any particular time. "Most people who are Gemini are supposed to have two things on their mind at one time — I have ten!" she laughs. It's often believed that romance is a mental activity for a Gemini and Shilpa agrees with this too. "I can't see myself with a person whom I can't connect with on a mental level. Be it my friends or any other relationship, there has to be a connection on the intellectual level," feels Shilpa.
Gemini is considered to be one of the most flirtatious signs. So, does Shilpa agree with this too? "No, way! Also, unlike most Geminis, I am not commitment phobic either. I just have to be sure of a person to get into a relationship with him. I have to be 100 per cent sure that the person is right for me," she adds. But Shilpa says she is extremely careful of the people whom she gets close to. "People think I am very friendly, which I am, but I don't let too many people come very close to me," she says. So, what would her ideal partner be like? "Besides having a good sense of humour, he has to be a good person. He has to respect my parents and be good natured. Looks really don't matter a lot to me," she says.
Shilpa, who knows quite a lot about the science of astrology, thanks to her mother who has a keen interest in it, says that she believes in it but is not superstitious. And has her mother predicted about Shilpa's walk down the aisle? She laughs, "My mother has told me that I'll get married late in life but it'll be a happy marriage."
According to Shilpa, she is possessive in a relationship. "But that doesn't mean that I am the sorts to cling on. By being possessive, I mean that I like to take care of the people that I love and care about. I really don't believe in the concept of space in a relationship. I believe, if a person needs a lot of space, then the couple needs to think seriously about their relationship," she feels. And speaking about her idea of romance, she says, "I am a romantic at heart. Who doesn't like to be loved and wooed? I am no different. I am just like any other woman. It's the emotion that matters. I am not materialistic and am usually content with life. But gifts are always welcome," she laughs.
