All set to dance

The director of 'Nach Baliye 2' speaks on competition.

Even as the eliminations of the much-hyped 'Jhalak... ' (Sony) are in full swing, the countdown to 'Nach Baliye-2' (Star One) has begun. Speculation is rife in telly-circles whether 'Jhalak..' has doused the flames of enthusiasm of home audiences towards 'Nach..'. So, is the 'Baliye' battalion taking their 'elaan-e-jung' proclamation seriously to face the competition.

'Nach...2' show director Deepak Gattani says, "Ironically 'Nach... ' is competing with its prequel, which was the trend-setter We are ready to take on any competition as our show will be 'super-rocking'. In the Navratri Dandiya-Raas, there will be shock-value twists in every episode. Besides, the anchors Sangeeta Ghosh and Shabbir Ahluwalia, the 'Nach..1' finalists and winner like Supriya and Sachin Pilgaonkar are also anchoring our show. The participating couples seem more dedicated than the ones in the first season."

Are they at a disadvantage since 'Jhalak..' has already caught the fancy of home-audiences? "No way," Gattani retorts, "On the contrary, the telecast of 'Jhalak..' is an advantage for us. The USP of the emotional lovey-dovey bonding between the celebrity partners in our show is in sheer contrast to the physical chemistry in the other show".
