Those who saw the first episode of Jhalak Dikhla Ja would vouch for the fact that Shveta Salve has really got the moves! Not only did she and her choreographer-partner Longinus Fernandes receive many a loud applause, but they also managed to win the judges' votes, and are currently leading the race.
While rumour had it that Shveta is a trained dancer, Sandip Soparrkar, the technical director of the show, says that although she confessed that she loves dancing, she is not a professionally trained dancer. But according to Sandip, what got Shveta the plus points was the fact that she'd done her homework. "She actually watched movies like Dance With Me to see how the dancers conduct themselves, how exactly they dress etc. In fact, the bow she did at the end of her dance was perfected from Vanessa Williams in Dance With Me," says Sandip.
