Ankita: Sushant deserves to win Jhalak

Buzz up!

Ankita Lokhande, popularly known as Pavitra Rishta's Archana, is the latest celebrity to be eliminated from Sony's Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa. She isn't disheartened as compliments and interactions with superstar Madhuri Dixit will keep her smiling for years to come. Glad to have some free time now, Ankita plans to shop to her heart's content and cheer boyfriend Sushant on the dance show.

How has the experience been in Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa?
The experience of doing Jhalak has been remarkable. It has been wonderful and fascinating. Now that I am no longer part of the show, I am missing the whole excitement of preparation and performance, of challenges and comments. It was fun and I will cherish all memories of Jhalak forever.

Do you feel like a dancer now?
I would like to think I was a dancer before. And to answer your question, I sure feel like I have improved on my dancing skills via Jhalak. I got an opportunity to learn dancing forms that I wouldn't have learnt otherwise. Today, I can proudly say I can do Samba, Salsa, Jive etc. I think I performed all dance forms to the best of my ability and they turned out fabulous. Though I would love to continue my dance training, I don't have time to spare. I accepted Jhalak for my fans and I am glad and grateful for their support.

According to you, which was your best performance?
Every dance I did had variation which I feel was the best part of my performances. We tried to be different in every act -be it the technique, style or story telling. I loved each and every act. Yet the one performance, on the Bin Tere Kya song where I played a mentally challenged girl, is my favourite.

Which was the toughest performance?
Once you have the rhythm, flexibility in your body and have passion for dance -nothing seems tough. I just regret not having enough time for rehearsal. That was the toughest part. I would shoot for my Zee show Pavitra Rishta for 14 hours, reach the rehearsal hall at 10.30pm and practice till 2.30am. It is difficult to be energized after a day's work and to dance four hours nonstop- is grueling. But I had to do it, so I did. The other contestants, who aren't doing daily soaps, like Chang and Yana practiced during the day when energy levels are high. They also had more time on their hands. I am passionate about dance, so I got the vigour to go on.

What was the best compliment you got on the show?
Madhuri Dixit told me that she saw bits of herself in me. That was the best day in my life. I used to love watching her on screen but when I met her in person - it was a totally different experience. She has been my guide on the show, telling me to do this and that. I smile whenever I think or talk about her.

What kind of interaction did you have with Madhuri?
She is not only beautiful but very warm and friendly. She is a superstar but very down-to-earth. She encouraged me to go on, better myself and motivated me.

Rumours were that the first time you were ousted from Jhalak, it angered you and Sushant even threatened to quit. So the producers brought you back via wild card entry. Comment.
That is not true at all. If we had such great connections in Sony then maybe I wouldn't be out of the show right now and I would have won the trophy. These are baseless rumours, nothing more.

Who do you think will win Jhalak?
I think Sushant should win as he is the best contender. I am not saying this because I am his girlfriend but because he deserves to win. I have no regrets that I am out as this is a competition. Sushant has proved his talent time and again. And if people want a non-dancer to win, as rumours suggest, then maybe they shouldn't have taken him on the show.

Sushant's proposal on national tv on Jhalak was quite surprising and shocking as you said on the show. Now that days have passed, how does it feel?
Every girl dreams of a guy who can announce his love in front of the whole world. You want your guy to scream from rooftops that he loves you and Sushant did that. It feels wonderful and I feel proud to be with a person who doesn't shy away from expressing his feelings.

Do you have any other projects in the pipeline?
I just have work and more work. Now that I am not doing Jhalak, I am enjoying my free time once I wrap up Pavitra Rishta's shoot. I didn't realize I had any free time pre-Jhalak but now I relish every free moment. I love shopping and that's what I do when free.

awww loved all her answer especially the rumors one. she gave them good and said what we felt 👍🏼 definitely she was a great dancer before coming to the show but she improved immensely with new dance forms through Jhalak.👏 i loved all her performances.👍🏼

and awwww Sushant clearly deserves to win the show and loved her answer on that too😳. she is so sweet and blunt👍🏼 i am happy that she has some time to rest now and catch up on stuffs that she missed 😃

This is one of the reasons i love Ankita......she is just straight forward she just can't keep anythng in heart everythng is on her mouth n sum pple say that she has attitude!

isnt sushant a shiamak davar dancer? so y is he on a show for non-dancers?😕.... how is that fair?.... same goes for yana too (if shes trained idk but being an item girl i would assume so)!
