Investigations in the Rahat case reveal payments of Rs 30 lakh each made to Madhuri Dixit and Malaika Arora Khan;lands them in I-T net


Even as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan,his manager Maroof and Chitresh Shrivastava were released on Monday night,the information from the case has given a new set of suspects.On Tuesday evening,names like Malaika Arora Khan and Madhuri Dixit emerged from further investigations in the case.Reportedly,the two,along with singer Mika Singh,are being investigated for alleged tax evasion.
Chitresh,brother of Bollywood composer Aadesh Shrivastava,runs Eyeline Telefilm and Events,an event management firm,which was handling Rahats India concerts.He was arrested along with Khan on Monday and was questioned by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for carrying undeclared foreign exchange.Chitreshs office was raided on Tuesday,and during the investigation,DRI officials reportedly found a diary,which had names of Madhuri and Malaika,as well as singer Mika,for receiving cash payments from Chitresh for events organised by him recently.Both Madhuri and Malaika have been given Rs 30 lakh each.Rs 51 lakh in cash was also discovered from his premises,along with other relevant documents with details of financial transactions.
Reportedly,DRI has already forwarded the details and other documents discovered from Chitreshs office to the Income Tax department for further investigation on whether the two actresses have evaded tax on these cash payments.
While Malaika was unavailable for comment,Madhuris business manager,Riku Rakeshnath,answered our call,only to say,Whats your problem Im in a meeting and am busy for the next couple of hours.What do you expect Madhuri to say Ill get back to you later.
