During a visit to Pune, Madhuri Dixit spoke to TOI about her life beyond movies

Till a good script comes, I'll wait and concentrate on my stint on television." She was yesteryear's reigning queen. Then she took a sabbatical. Yet there is something about Madhuri Dixit, which always kept her alive in the hearts of her fans. From Abodh to Aaja Nachle and from being Saroj Khan's favourite student to the newest face of TV, the beautiful actress has indeed come a long way. Currently focusing on TV hosting a food show, we asked her what made her associate herself with it. She says, "I love food. Jhunka bhakar, Modak, Saag makki ki roti and typical Maharashtrian food, are my favourites. And my husband loves to eat Chicken tikka masala and Sabudana ki kichdi, which I cook for him often."

Her evergreen charm left her fans in a frenzy when she visited the city after a long time. But it's not just her fans who are elated. "Even I feel great to come here. I was a regular in Pune as a kid because my maternal relatives stayed here. I remember how my cousins and I would create a racket in those days. I have loads of good memories," said the star reminiscing about her childhood days.

Madhuri's filmography is dotted with accomplishments, awards and recognitions. She was a superstar and the established queen of Bollywood when, at the peak of her career, she chose to become Mrs Nene. Now that she is back ' although on the small screen ' how have her kids reacted? "When I left Bollywood, they were very small. They never felt that their mom was a star. We intentionally kept them away from stardom. But this time when they came on the sets of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa which I judged, they realised that people knew me here. They said, 'you are so big inIndia, ma." When asked about Dr Nene's response to her stint, she says, "He found me very genuine and spontaneous. He liked me for being so clear in my thoughts when it came to judgement."

On the show, Madhuri not only created waves by looking stunning, but also unveiled charisma through her dance moves. "I think dance does something to me. When I dance, I come alive. For me, dancing is divine and it transports me to a different world."

Glowing in an orange and gold sari, she proved, once again, that there was something divine not just about her dance moves, but also about her beauty. It's a pristine charm that keeps growing with age. As she gets ready to leave, we compliment her. Flashing her killing smile, she responds, "I would like to thank my fans for the love and affection that they have showered on me. I just hope this relationship continues." It will, Madhuri. Forever.
