Indian television industry is unique in of its kind with a vast reach across all the states. The television industry has become one of the most growing industries with thousands of programmes targeted for all age groups starting from the kids, housewives, professionals to the aged groups. Indian viewers usually become emotionally attached to their favorite shows and some moments become memorable for life time. Here, we have come up with some moments of the Indian television in 2010 that has touched you and will be remembered always.

Abhishek Bachchan In National Bingo Night

1. Abhishek Bachchan turns anchor for Colors' 'National Bingo Night'

Following the path of his legendary father Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek tried his hand in television anchoring with Colors' game show 'National Bingo Night'. He was no less charming than his father and tried to be very friendly with participants as well as the audience. He even went on earning the best anchor (Male) award at the New Talent Awards event.

2. Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguly got married on a reality show

'Rakhi Ka Swayamvar' disappointed the viewers as she ended up breaking up with her fianc, Elesh. However, Rahul Mahajan created history when he got married on the Imagine TV's reality show 'Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega' on March 6, 2010. He chose 21-year-old Bengali beauty Dimpy Ganguly as his bride from the 17 girls, who came from different parts of the country to marry him. It became a national news and all the news channels widely covered the marriage ceremony.

3. Star Plus' sitcom 'Khichdi' is made into a film

Star Plus' popular sitcom 'Khichdi', which was produced by UTV Software Communications, became the first Indian sitcom to become the base of a full-fledged movie. Khichdi, the movie was directed and produced by the same persons who made the sitcom. Aatish Kapadia and JD Majethia were the director and the producer of the sitcom as well as the film respectively. It starred actors from the original sitcom but could not much business at the Box Office when released on 1st October.

4. Indian television gets first dwarf female protagonist

Imagine TV started airing a unique of its kind show 'Baba Aiso Var Dhoondho' from October 1, which has a dwarf girl with 3.5 ft height as the female protagonist. We have seen dark skinned, blind and even handicapped girls becoming the female protagonists in television but it is for the first in the Indian television history, a dwarf girl turned the lead character. The serial shows how a normal girl from a rich family gets rejected by all her suitors only because of her short height.

5. Kabir Bedi enters Indian television scenario with Sahara One's 'Ganga Ki Dheej'

Internationally acclaimed Indian actor Kabir Bedi, who has done many Bollywood as well as Hollywood films and explored American television, enters Indian television scenario in 2010 with Sahara One's show 'Ganga Ki Dheej', which is aired at 10 pm. Kabir Bedi plays a negative but very strong character in this serial, which deals with the superstition of inhabitants of a village in West Bengal. Kabir Bedi essays the role of the landlord 'dadabhai' (thakur), who is regarded like God by the villagers.

6. 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 4' gets first woman Crorepati

A housewife Rahat Taslim from a small town of Giridih in Jharkhand became the first Crorepati woman on Amitabh Bachchan hosted show 'Kaun Bangega Crorepati 4'. She entered her name in the history of KBC by winning the one crore prize money and became a household name.

7. Master Chef India

It is a unique culinary competition, which is first of its kind in India. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar hosts and is one of the three judges of the show, which tries to bring out the extraordinary culinary talent from the ordinary housewives and professionals, who have a passion for cooking. No other show in Indian television has tried to explore this.

8. Jay-Veeru union on KBC sets

Bollywood superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, who made the Jay-Veeru friendship immortal through their roles in the legendary film Sholay, united again on one stage on the final episode of KBC 4. On this particular day, the TRPs of the quiz show went to the highest level and it became one of the most memorable moments of Indian television of the year.

The dancing diva of Bollywood still rules the hearts of her Indian fans with her deadly smile and stunning beauty. She took everyone by surprise with her mind-blowing steps on her entry. It is one moment that has to be cherished by all.

10. Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah completes
500 episodes

SAB TV's popular sitcom 'Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' has completed its 500th episode with successful track record. The show started in 2008 and ruled the viewers heart with a wonderful story of a housing society in Mumbai, where people from different parts of the country reside in one society. The characters of the show became so popular that it went easily towards the 500th episode. The show dealt with various serious issues like child marriage, water saving, superstition about ghosts and many other issues in a very funny and simple way.
