I strongly feel that judges have proven by staging a strike that their names merit a red strike of their own.
I am glad that the judges feel sympathy for Hard Kaur. She was one of the strongest dancer, if not maybe the strongest, of the show. Having said that, the judges have no right to rail against us, the audience, because their favorite contender for the title of Jhalak... Winner was ousted of the show. The format of the show was clear on the onset that dance-off requires the duo that did not perform well on the designated day to bid goodbye to the Jhalak stage.
Does Karan Singh Grover deserve to be in the Jhalak Finals? No. But is the results of the dance-off Karan's fault, Karan's brainchild? No. I agree that Karan's performance this Season, barring three performances, has not been anything to rave about. But does he deserve to be blamed by the judges for the results of Hard Kaur's ouster? No. What did he do? Engineer Hard Kaur's ouster? Hardly. From the outset the judges have been slightly stingy with scores in specific to certain contestants while overflowing with others. But for the judges to get on a crusading zeal to say that they will strike because Hard Kaur has been ousted unfairly when they think there is uhh someone uhh [read Karan] who deserved to be ousted instead is too much.
Simply saying for them Hard Kaur is the winner in their hearts of the show would have been enough show of support and probably meant more to the audience than this agenda-pushing. But to get on a high horse, raising expectations of Hard Kaur that maybe she will get to be in the Finals unfairly, and also to constantly berate Karan for his popular votes (as if it is his fault). Why are there judges on the show? They are paid to guide the audience to select what contestant to vote for based on performance, not to dictate to the audience. The format of the show is by necessity governed by gaining public's favor based on voting; and for the judges to act as if this is some new and shocking piece of insulting information is unfair to the audience, the show, and the contestants. The judges are pushing for a controversy where none is needed. Agreed, Hard Kaur did not deserve to be ousted out of the show before Finals. But who ever said that life follows the pattern of what we deserve? I think I deserve a million dollars; I think you deserve a million dollars. Please let me know when either of us are getting rich anytime soon.
