Shilpa Shukla's tumultuous Jhalak Dhikla Ja journey finally ended last week. Here we have the Chak De girl talk about it.
Q What went wrong?
Well as you all saw, I just froze in the Face Off. But I have no regrets for I already feel that I am a winner. I had never thought that I will last for so long. I am more of an actress than a dancer, so I guess it's okay.
Q You repeatedly kept landing in the Face Off, was it lack of audience vote?
No, I have received lots of love and support from the audience. In fact, I got more votes than Parul in the last round. I view my landings in the Face Off from an entirely different perspective. May be the audience wants to see me dance more.
Q But it was getting stressful as the AV suggested?
We would only get four days to rehearse for the next event and the fear of a Face Off kept us on tenterhooks. But it was not like I had given up. I have always been a fighter. Having said that, I will agree that I was no longer enjoying the experience. Dancing for me is relaxation, which I could not enjoy as the competition kept heating up.
Q Who do you think has a chance to win the Jhalak crown this time around?
Hard Kaur. I know lot of people keep talking about Karan Grover's chances as he is a popular actor but I think post recession things have changed and talent will get its rightful due.
Q What have you gained?
A lot of love and name. After Chak De I had the image of a serious girl which has now changed. Here people have watched me display all kinds of real emotions.
Q What next?
I have a couple of comedy films on the floor.
Q More television?
Currently I am doing Raju Bhen on SET which is like shooting for films. I have had great fun. It is a very interesting character. But besides that I would not want to do more TV.
