She was voted out of the show but her fans got her back, as the wild card entry with maximum votes! But, that's not the only reason why model A contestant on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa – 3, a reality dance show, Gauhar is known for not just her dance moves but also her teary outbursts on the show. However, now she is made a comeback as a stronger person. "I have learnt not to let my emotions overpower my decisions," she confesses.We chatted up with the lady to know more. "I am a very emotional person and it was very challenging for me to deal with my emotions on the show," she says, adding, "But then I realised that this is what leads to my intentions being misinterpreted. So, now I am making an effort to learn how to hide my weakness." But then, the journey has been full of ups and downs. We often witnessed her bursting into tears on the show, which we learn was because of her differences with former choreographer Hanif Hilal. But, all seems to be at peace now. "With Himanshu as my new choreographer, all worries have been put to rest," she says. Talking about her camaraderie with Himanshu, she says, "He is a great person. We are not just professionally comfortable with each other but also are great friends. And that's one equation I could never establish with Hanif. Himanshu and I work together as a team. Also, Himanshu does not think of himself as someone who knows everything, he is always open to suggestions and I respect that." So, is it this teamwork that's going to take her forward in the show? "At the moment it feels great to be back. I'm very excited. It is almost like a new lease of life for me and I want to make the most of it," she says. And well, she doesn't consider anyone her competition on the show. "I am simply concentrating on improving my performance so that I improve week after week. I am not concentrating on what others are doing, I just want to be so good that others find it difficult to reach my level," she says Ask her to choose her favourite judge, of the three, on the show and she says, "All three hold a different position in my life." She elaborates further, "Saroj Khan is someone I respect and feel inspired by. Juhi Chawla is someone who has always understood me. And, Vaibhavi Merchant is one person whose comments I listen to very carefully, for two reasons. One, she is fair with the judgment she makes and second, since I am passionately in love with dance and I understand her instructions will help me take my passion further." And was it her passion to dance that made her a part of the show as well? "I took up this show because I thought it's a great platform. I am a model by profession, but dancing has always interested me. Here, I am learning a lot of new dance forms," she says. And is acting also a part of her plans? "A lot of different offers are flowing in, but I've not zeroed in on anything," she signs off. |
