m_ranjib@dnaindia.net Shiv Pandit has been shown the door in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. The anchor, who rose to fame with his stint during the Indian Premiere League last year, did not get the desired response from the audience. He's been replaced by Rohit Roy. Says a source, "Shiv was so popular last year during IPL that he was the obvious choice for Jhalak. However, his brilliance in hosting a cricket event could not match up to his skills in a dance reality show." Shiv confirms, "I am not doing the show any more. I had knowledge of this, so it was not a big shock for me." Sources suggest that Shiv did not have quite the great rapport with most of his colleagues. "May be. I did not have great rapport with everybody, but I had decent rapport with most of the contestants," he says. Despite having a huge line up of stars from different fields, the show failed to garner the desired TRPs for Sony. "I always thought the show is doing well. I guess the competition is too much and the channel is trying their best to pep up the show," he says. On the other hand, Shweta Tiwari's anchoring skills have been questioned by the channel. The source further adds, "Unlike Mona Singh, who hosted last year, Shweta hardly interacts with the contestants. Whenever she is not shooting, she prefers to sit in her vanity van. Despite charging a huge fee, the result is not an exciting one." So, the channel approached Mona Singh, but she doesn't have dates. "Mona is going abroad for shows and so she won't be able to do the show," the source says. |
