Maninee refuses to grey
Though the actor will age in 'Jeete Hain Jiske Liye', she will still sport a sexy look.
Will you be going grey with the generation leap in 'Jeete Hain Jiske Liye' (Sony)?
Not at all! My character is a stylish, brand-conscious, Page 3 socialite. So, I can easily mould myself to look different with the leap but not necessarily go grey. How many mothers and grandmothers today want to look old? So, you can expect a sexy mature me in the show.
Does your strong personality limit you as an actor?
I admit I have a very strong presence. I give the impression of not being a doormat. But thankfully, I have played a variety of roles in this industry where you are either black or white. In 'Piya Ka Ghar' I had a positive role, 'Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin' had me playing a negative character with a humorous slant and 'Sarkar' was totally negative. So I haven't felt limited.
What films are you looking forward to?
I have Ken Ghosh's 'Chend Kuli ki Mend Kuli' coming up. Luckily, I have never had to approach filmmakers for roles. Be it 'Krrish' or 'Waisa Bhi Hota Hai', films have just fallen in my lap.
What's the secret of your happy marriage?
Being fire signs Mihir (Misra) and I get along like a house on fire (laughs)! Even if we argue, it's an intelligent argument. The best thing about Mihir is his sense of humour. I believe that every marriage has to have a dose of humour to survive. One thing that I do resent about Mihir is his smoking habit. We are planning another baby next year, which should complete our family.
