It was the last straw.
They had done it!
She was done with the Rajawats!
She had tried, so hard but alas. This haveli indeed is cursed!
Tears continued to trickle down but she had decided to give up on her stupid belief of changing things for better.
She teared apart the mangalsutra as her heart also shattered to pieces. She rubbed the cursed vermillion off, she was not going to let her life be destroyed for the love that could never be hers!
She stepped out of her underground cellar pulling her suitcase.
On reaching the hall, she found masa waiting.
' Sadistic woman', Devi thought and smiled begrudgingly.
" Katthe ja rhi hai?" Masa asked smirking.
" To my home", Devi replied staring right back.
" You may have came here against my wish but you can't leave, my revenge is st.."
" You, your revenge and your plottings can enjoy themselves. I am leaving and no one can stop me", she replied with an air of finality.
" Badi zabaan chale hai thaari..." Urmi raised her hand to but was given a reality check instead.
Devi caught her wrist and twisted it behind her back making her writhe in pain.
" Chhod..." She wiggled but in vain.
Devi twister her hand even tighter while Urmi cried.
" Mhari Urmi ko chhod Varna tu na jaane hai ki thare sath ke hoga!" Bansuri shouted coming forward to her daughter's rescue.
She imitated Urmi and raised her hand but Devi was on a roll.
She pushed Urmi away and caught hold of bansuri's hand and twisted it the same way making her yelp in pain.
Maasa's face scrunched while Urmi tended to her aching wrist.
" Tujhme badi jaan aa gyi hai!" Masa hissed in a venom laced voice.
Devi smirked and pushed bansuri towards the floor.
" Honestly, I wanted to leave peacefully but I forgot that the women of This house love drama", she mocked.
Masa took a step forward when Devi face palmed her.
" Stop right there! These two might have survived my grip but your old bones will definitely crack!" Devi warned menacingly.
Her emotions were running astray.
" Devrani baisa!"
Devi turned around to see Kesar rushing in her direction.
" jethanisa, you were the only one who stood by me but I'll have to leave, the air in this house is just too toxic!"
" And you should leave with me. This house and it's members can never give you anything other than torture and insults!" Devi pleaded.
" No Devrani baisa, my life is here only", Kesar smiled sadly.
Devi let go of her hand and grabbing her suitcase proceeded towards the main door.
However her steps were halted when his silhouette emerged from the opposite direction.
Flashes of all those beautiful times passed in her eyes, but what followed was a nightmare of tortures and soul breaks she underwent because of him.
What good was love without trust.
She stepped in his direction and stopped right in front of him.
Taking his hand, she pushed his palm open and placed papers in it.
He looked at the them confused and asked in a commanding tone.
" What are these papers!?"
" Divorce papers", she replied in a flat voice and turned to pick her suitcase.
Her strong facade was slipping fast. Tears were on the verge of breaking through but she would not let her resolve weaken.
She had dared to dream with open eyes and she had paid a heavy price for it!
Adhiraj was shocked. Something in his chest pained but he ignored it.
" I have signed these already so..."
" I won't give you divorce!" He exclaimed, his voice desperate.
She turned around on catching the desperation in his voice. She had hope against hope!
" Juti hai tu, sar par mat naach", he threatened dumping the papers aside.
She had to be an idiot. Just how many heartbreaks would it take for her to learn her lesson!
Without responding, she picked her luggage and stepped towards the main door.
Adhi's eyes widened at her insolence. She dared defy him!
Gripping her wrist, he pulled her towards himself.
Their eyes met. He looked away for reasons unknown.
" You can't leave", he shouted pulling her closer.
" you are hurting me", she spoke but he didn't budge.
" Leave me", she asked again but to no avail.
Her anger spiked. This man was the root of all her troubles.
" Bloody leave me alone!" She shouted and pushed him away with full force.
He faltered in his steps but managed somehow.
He looked at her shocked. Never had she reacted in such a way!
" Enough is enough! I am trying to control my anger here so please let me Go", she requested clapping her hands together in front of him.
He didn't budge and she took it as her cue to leave but she was wrong.
His minions stood on the door blocking her route.
And her patience deserted her.
" I was trying to be patient here but you people won't understand things the easy way huh! Fine!! You have no right to stop me here. Law grants me full authority to live my life my way. If you continue to refuse, police will have to intervene!" She threatened.
" Sujangarh ke sarkar bhi hum hai or kanoon bhi", Adhiraj thundered.
" Mr Rajawat, Sujangarh may be your fort but ACP of Jaipur ain't your pet, he is my father's dear friend. So if you continue to be stubborn, he will intervene and things won't end well for you", she quipped back.
" You will throw me in Jail!?" He asked, his voice a mixture of dejection and anger.
She ignored that hurt in his voice. He had hurt her enough!
" I won't mind. And why you only! I might as well file a case of domestic violence against you all!"
This enraged Adhi. She was accusing his masa too.
" Control your anger! Why? Truth stung! Oh! I am sorry...you are a blind fool. You can't see the truth, you only see what Heera Rajawat makes you see, Mr. Foolish Shravan Kumar!" She spat.
" You are crossing your limit!" He warned.
" I hope you won't, Mr Rajawat! Things have changed. You have seen the Perfect wife I was but I will show just how dangerous a woman I can be", she pointed in his direction.
Adhiraj didn't want her to leave. His heart wanted to reach out to her but he didn't bother to hear it.
"Hope to hear an order from court soon!", she warned and stepped towards Adhi again.
His eyes widened when she leaned awfully close. Unknown to him, she had slid the mangalsutra in his coat pocket.
" You will realise your folly one day, Adhiraj", she whispered with all the love she had for him. She was going to shed the last ounce of love in her heart here and now.
His eyes widened. She had taken his first name in such a love filled voice.
She backed away and started leaving. He had lost the will to stop her but masa was not done yet.
" Laadesar...don't let her escape, she robbed your hard earned money, threatened your life and tried to kill m..."
" Will you stop Heera Rajawat!" Devi shouted and turned around.
" Aren't you tired of playing this revenge drama! Don't poison your son at least. He is yours so please don't spoil his innocence! "
" Chori..." Adhi warned.
Devi looked at the man for whom she was fighting. He didn't care! She didn't too anymore!
" Mr Rajawat...I am fighting for your sake! I should give you a reality check too...
You married me FORCEFULLY for some revenge that I had no clue about. You Forced me to live in inhumane conditions. I had to serve you as Maid! If that wasn't enough you Burned Me" she shouted making Adhi flinch at the memory.
" That's not all, Masa and your bhabhisa went on to burn my face off..that too by a cracker!"
His eyes widened and he turned to look at maasa who looked away.
"Please! Don't act as if you didn't know! Then you started using my luck for your selfish beliefs and dumped me away like a rag doll when whatever was between us started making no sense to you! If masa said, I am wrong than I am wrong and that's that!!! Have you got no conscience of your own!!?" She accused as tears trickled down.
" I was accused of trying to poison your Mother! I made the food. The food had poison but it was never proved that I was the one that put poison in food! But why will you think like that, you needed a scapegoat to blame and that was me, the Chauhan!"
Adhi didn't speak a word. Masa tried to intervene but he silenced her.
" Bol" he coerced her and kept standing.
" But for your sake, I went on to drink the cough syrup that you thought was poison. It had poison! but when was it ever proved that someone hadn't messed with its contents!? But why would you think like that! I make up for the perfect target after all!".
" And finally I was thrown in the cellar again! I paid such a heavy price for having trusted myself! I paid with my dreams! I got scarred for saving your Mother that day when she had forced my legs to bleed! I had to be an idiot that I took the attacks aimed at you! I am such an idiot for coming back", Devi breakdown and fell to the floor.
" I was a fool that I started seeing future with you! I returned for you because I Loved You Adhiraj...I Loved You...", she whispered in the end.
Her words resonated in his ears.
' I loved you'
" But I have realised that you are not worth My love and efforts", she stood up wiping her tears.
" And yes masa, you are one selfish woman. Your ego matters the most! In your thirst for revenge you forced your son to marry me! Then when he started accepting me as wife you started plotting...first against me, then against your own son and finally you turned suicidal! You want your son to yourself and that's the jest of it!".
Masa fisted her hands and glared at Devi but she just smirked.
" And one last thing! You all have some heavy misunderstandings regarding one another...let me clear them as a farewell gift", Devi chuckled & stepped towards masa.
" You think that Urmi and bansuri are your faithful lap dogs! But they are after your money", masa's eyes widened and she turned to the duo.
" And Urmi, you think that by marrying Adhi you can rule over this Havelli!! How wishful! Masa has and will always rule over his mind".
" And Mr Rajawat, your biggest shield is you masa according to you but she is a two edged sword that hangs on your neck every time. If you ever bother to go against her wishes, her sword won't hesitate from piercing you! And demo toh apko mil hi chuka hai... "
Saying that, Devi switched on the voice recorder on her phone and masa's voice boomed across the hall, her confession of getting Adhiraj attacked...
His eyes widened in disbelief while she stepped outside the Rajawat haveli mouthing,
" I've given You too much,
I'm takin back my Love"
