My aunt's mother was called Kamuben by everyone including her children so I know that some families do call the lady of the family by name and ben for respect.

there are still many gujarati families in which mothers are called as ben by their children but they dont call them by name..just call ben..ben doesnt mean only sister it means mother too in gujarati language... its not popular word in some cities...if ur gujarati then ask your grandparents they will tell u about it..and as you all know.. the way ppl talk and say certain things veries from city to city....family shown in serial is from Junagadh so i guess they call mother as ben over there..

My mom said that at places like junaghad n saurastra all called 'ben'😊

Her real name might be Jasuben.

I know a girl whose real name is Jasuben, not just like said, the school register says Jasuben, so it might be her name.
