Armaan is genuinely pained by Jassi's past for sure. Armaan is pained because he proposed to Jassi without knowing what she underwent in her past. Armaan never thought that Jassi had such a painful incident in her past.

I don't know if you remember, Raj had to force Armaan into making a proposal to Jassi. Inwardly Armaan's subconscious mind was pricking, when he was forced to say that he loves Jassi, but he had to say it for the sake of Gulmohur. Armaan even in those days was in pain, when he had to say that he loves her. But at that time, his top priority was his company 'Gulmohur' and he was willing to do anything for it.

Armaan may have started slowly falling in love with Jassi...after her wedding with Purab was announced. Because after that we start seeing a very selfless Armaan, who was happy to see Jassi happy in life. He didn't mind Purab marrying her and all that mattered for him was Jassi's happiness.

Armaan never realised though that the feeling that he is having towards Jassi is one of love. Armaan perhaps never believed in love, because he never fell in love. He had many girls in his life, before Mallika and he never was serious with any woman. He had become like that perhaps due to his friendship with Raj who himself was a flirt. Armaan agreed to marry Mallika just for the sake of keeping his status in Gulmohur and it is clear that he never loved Mallika or any other girl for that matter. He just wanted to do timepass with the girls, eventhough inwardly maybe he wanted to find the right girl to fall in love with and perhaps he felt that he would never find such a girl, because the girls he saw around him were attracted towards money and glamour.

Armaan had always seen women who fall for costly gifts, grand candle-lit dinners and parties. He has always got to mingle with women of high level society, where all these grand things charm women and Armaan felt that all women are like that.😛

But he found an exception in Jassi who never wanted those costly gifts but just wanted love and when Armaan started romancing Jassi to get back Gulmohur, he slowly started understanding that there are women who value principles, work, friends and their family more than grand lifestyle or fashion. That was when Armaan started enjoying..romancing Jassi eventhough inwardly he had a minor guilt too.😛

When Jassi rejected Armaan, he was full of pain and frustration that he got rejected for the first time. But when he realised that she did it for the sake of her principles..and after Raj started challenging him, Armaan once again started taking 'Mission Jassi' as a game, just to defeat Raj and show that he could woo any girl and make her fall in love with him. 😉

Armaan inwardly enjoyed the game somewhere, because he felt that it was a great challenge to make a girl like Jassi fall in love. Then when Armaan-Mallika wedding was getting fixed and Jassi saw their wedding cards, once again Armaan was full of guilt. Later on, when Jassi became CEO, his mind couldn't accept her holding such a superior post and he got afraid that perhaps he would lose his CEO post and so he tried to spoil her plans as a CEO to clear Gulmohur from the debts.😛

But then he started understanding that Jassi is a capable CEO and then when he came to know about Jassi's marriage to Purab, he was initially shocked..because eventhough he started the 'Mission Jassi' as a game...lateron somewhere within he started enjoying it romancing Jassi and also felt that Jassi would remain with him always and perhaps Armaan also liked the way Jassi reciprocated to Armaan with those love-filled eyes and expressions. 😳

But when he came to know about Purab-Jassi marriage..first he was full of shock, then a bit of frustration, but then he did a self-analysis and felt that he was not a totally good person.😳

There is a scene where Armaan asks Raj, if he is a really bad person, then Raj tells him that Armaan is not completely bad..but he has done certain good things in life...but finally couldn't mention a single good thing he had done.😆

Armaan at that moment realised that he had been a selfish person all through-when he tried to woo Jassi for Gulmohur and got jealous about her being the CEO and now getting jealous about her getting married to Purab-and Armaan started changing because he wanted to be a good person.

He started being selfless and started wishing the best for Jassi like a true well-wisher. He even participated in Purab's party just for the sake of Jassi and her happiness. Armaan perhaps inwardly admired and in a certain degree loved Jassi.😳

Armaan was totally shocked when he came to know about Purab leaving Jassi because he couldn't understand how a good person like Purab could leave Jassi and run away writing a letter to her and then his mind was perhaps filled with a bit of guilt then..that he too had in a certain manner betrayed Jassi and now Purab has also betrayed her. That made Armaan want to somehow cheer up Jassi, because he understands that he too had not been fair to her in the past, when he acted as if he was in love with her.

At Raj's apartment, when Armaan was trying to console Jassi by being sweet to her and making friends with her and then asking about her past...he just was trying to get over the guilt he was having within and also to make the Jassi whom he unknowingly loved..a bit happy and forget the sorrow she had gone through.😳

But when Jassi told Armaan about the guy who had cheated her long back in her past... Armaan is full of pain, because she had been cheated thrice in life and one of the men who had cheated her had been Armaan himself. That brought a lot of pain to Armaan and he understood that he had been wrong in doing all that for the sake of Gulmohur. Armaan is full of pain and fear that if tomorrow Jassi comes to know that he had also fooled her by proposing to her..then Jassi would surely be filled with pain.more pain than when the first guy left him and more pain than when Purab left him...because Armaan knows clearly that Jassi is in love with him.😳

He came to know about it... the night when Jassi accidentally confessed to Armaan about her love for him..after her marriage got fixed to Purab. Even though at that point, Armaan corrected Jassi..by replacing his name with Purab...but inwardly he understood that Jassi was in love with him and he thought that at this point, he would let Purab marry Jassi, because perhaps he is a better person for Jassi and also because he wanted Jassi to be happy in life..

Armaan was filled with guilt from the day he proposed to Jassi and that was one reason, why he had been so gentle and caring about Jassi all the while and now his guilt has increased after knowing that he was the second person to give her false hopes of love in her life and whom she too loved inwardly.😳

How on earth did Mallika figure out the fact that Armaan was seeing another woman? When Armaan himself is unaware that he has feelings for Jassi?

Mallika always doubted Armaan regarding his being with girls and she was always possessive about him. She knew that everytime..he was hiding something or being extra-loving to her, he was trying to hide some girlfriend of his from her like in the case of Kareena Modi.😆

Mallika always knew when Armaan was with another girl flirting and Mallika couldn't bear Armaan flirting with another girl..starting from Kareena Modi to Yana during the singapore trip. Mallika always wanted Armaan to only romance her and be close to her. Mallika clearly knew that Armaan never loved her..but Mallika also knew that Armaan is not in love with any other girl because Armaan is always sweet and romantic to her..when he is flirting with other girls. What Mallika cannot bear every time is that Armaan is flirting with other women and trying to hide it from her.😆

Mallika has always been insecure about Armaan because she knew it that Armaan never loved her, but was marrying her for the sake of his parents and for the sake of Gulmohur. But for Mallika, what she expected from her husband is style equalling that of hers, a good social position, a flirtatious and romantic character and lot of money. Mallika found all these qualities in Armaan and perhaps she loved Armaan also for some inner goodness within him..which always remained hidden, but which Mallika felt..whenever he romanced and flirted with her.😳

Mallika always doubted that Armaan was cheating on her and flirting with other girls and though she got angry on all the times, but she forgave him each time because she knew that Armaan was only flirting and also that she was to a great extent wrong in being so possessive about him and with her anger hurting him and trying to control him. So she would somehow patchup back with Armaan and again she would start doubting him..when he is all sweet and romantic with her after flirting with another girl.😆

But in this particular episode, when Armaan is totally aloof while speaking to her over phone and very serious and when he reached her house and even then was making excuses of being tired...Mallika could not see her old Armaan there.😳

She was seeing a new Armaan whom she hadn't seen all her life. She was seeing an Armaan who is very aloof, tensed, moody, a little sad and totally not interested in romancing her. If it was any official problems that Armaan was facing...perhaps he would've said about it to her, but now he was just saying in a superficial way that he is tired and tensed due to the meeting with suppliers and all when Mallika knew clearly that he was out with Jassi at the exhibition.😛

Mallika...for the first time experienced a certain aloofness from Armaan and also a certain seriousness in his attitude, which he wouldn't have if he was tensed with office problems or if he was hiding any other girl from her.😆

Mallika understood then that Armaan had fallen in love with some other girl and he is quite serious about his love and now he want to keep a distance from Mallika, because he didn't even apologise to her like before or shout at her that she is doubting him unnecessarily. That made Mallika realise that she was slowly losing her love and Armaan surely was in love with a girl and is quite serious about her. 😳

Was it just a guess on Mallika's part or some kind of intuition?

It was the intuition that Mallika had, because as a woman she always knew that Armaan never had fallen in true love with any girl and perhaps she expected him to fall in love with her after marriage or just marry her and love her as a wife. But when Mallika saw the totally aloof Armaan, she realised that a change had come over him and he was not tensed or serious because of office affairs, but rather he was in true love with some other girl. Because Armaan was behaving in a very different and new manner, in which she knew that he was involved in some kind of deep and serious emotions. Mallika perhaps had been noticing the change that had been coming over Armaan...ever since he became a selfless person and now she doesn't want to miss the Armaan who is even more valuable after becoming a good person.

Mallika wanted to somehow once again make up to Armaan and also perhaps she wanted to find out why Armaan was all the while cutting the calls and being so aloof from her. From Armaan's expressions and behaviour she realised that Armaan was not out flirting with a girl..he was neither out to solve some office problem, but inspite of that he is looking tensed up and sad and she was seeing a change in Armaan's behaviour.😛

His aloofness and the way he removed her hand when she touched his arms, clearly made her understand that Armaan had some other girl in his mind and he wanted to keep a physical as well as mental distance with her. It was clearly her intuition as a woman which made her understand that something had really happened to Armaan and perhaps it was love...which he had never experienced in his life. 😳

Now if that is the case can we say that Mallika was the first one to know that Armaan was in love with a woman..not necessarily Jassi?

I feel that perhaps it is Raj who understood that Armaan was in love with Jassi, just like Jassi was in love with Armaan, because he knew clearly that Jassi was always full of admiration and love for Armaan sir and he also knew that somewhere within the goodness in Armaan was making him more emotional towards Jassi and that was perhaps why he was backing off from proposing to Jassi, but still Raj wanted Armaan to do it for the sake of Gulmohur.

Raj was the one who brought Armaan closer to Jassi and he may have felt that Jassi was much closer to Armaan inwardly, whenever Armaan said that he wanted to keep Jassi with him always and also when he said that he feels relieved when Jassi is around. 😛

Raj perhaps unknowingly preferred Armaan being in love with Jassi..than being in love with Mallika. But Raj always behaved as if it was a game..but all through his acquaintance with Jassi, it should be noted that he never ridiculed Jassi, but rather always called her Jassi-the genius, Jhansi ki Rani etc and always tried to be supportive of her just like Armaan. Raj knew it that Jassi was in love with Armaan and perhaps he was a god-sent cause to bring Armaan closer to Jassi.😳

Raj perhaps was the first person who unconsciously identified that somewhere within Armaan too wanted Jassi in his life always and he gave an easy solution to Armaan by asking him to propose to her. Because Raj could've given many other ways to save Gulmohur. He could've made Armaan dismiss Jassi, but he didn't do it because he knew that Armaan needed a truthful and innocent secretary like Jassi with him always and he perhaps felt that as Jassi was in love with Armaan it would help in saving Gulmohur. Each time Raj speaks about Armaan's marriage to Mallika, he would rather be ridiculing it.

Remember the episode of Jassi's first day in office...where Raj comes to Armaan's room singing 'Aaj mere yaar ki shaadi hai...aaj is gadhe ki barbaadi hai...'😆 Raj inwardly knew being the true friend of Armaan.. that Mallika was not the right girl for him and he didn't approve of Armaan marrying a girl without falling in love with her perhaps or maybe atleast not marry for the sake of Gulmohur. That is why he thought that atleast if he gets acquainted with a girl like Jassi...he would surely understand more about love and perhaps back off from marrying a woman like Mallika.

I feel that perhaps it was Raj who brought Armaan closer to Jassi..who knew that Armaan and Jassi were both in love with each other. Maybe he knew about it even before Mallika, but he is always a happy-go-lucky kind of person, so he never expressed it, but he always knew how much important Jassi was for Armaan as a support factor.😳

If Armaan pitied and cared for Jassi as a friend. Why did Mallika feel he was in LOVE ?

Armaan gave the name of friendship to the true inner feeling that he was having...which was 'Love'. Mostly, when we are in real love with a person or if we want to get closer to a person...or to understand the person better..the first step is friendship. With friendship you get to know a person better and be more free in communicating with the person. Armaan was surely inwardly in love with Jassi...but his mind never knew about it. He always cared a lot about Jassi as an employee, as a lover and as a human being. But he never knew enough about Jassi, because he never tried to know about her. He wanted Jassi for his own personal purposes, be it for official or for the sake of saving Gulmohur. But for the first time, Armaan comes out of the mould of a boss and chairman of Gulmohur and speaks to her as a friend...because Armaan was firstly guilty and also because he wanted to lessen the burden in Jassi's mind.

Armaan had become a good person and as a result, he wanted to share the pain in Jassi and somehow make her feel that he can be a good friend too, just like Nandu has been to her. Armaan now feels that he can be equally supportive to her like she has been to him all along and if he becomes her friend and shares her pain with her and give her some happiness, then that would be one good thing that he would be doing. He also wanted to lessen the guilt in his mind but inwardly his love towards her was also making him do all this. Armaan cannot see Jassi in pain and he want to somehow console her. This is what his inner soul is feeling, but his mind is thinking that he is doing all this to reduce Jassi's pain and the guilt within him.

Armaan was not pitying Jassi...and he cared a lot for her as a secretary and also as a human being. Now he took up the role of a friend too, because yet another friend of hers' had betrayed her in life. So he wanted to provide a replacement to Purab, by being her friend and sharing her pain and giving her some happiness. He was doing all that because he was in love with her and his mind could accept it only as friendship and he felt that he had to do all that as a friend.

You become a really close friend to a person, when we start liking that person and when we start having a chemistry with the person. Armaan never believed in making friends with women...but for the first time he was making Jassi his friend, because he has started liking her and wanted to create a closer relationship with her and also started respecting her as a woman.😳
