It is not that Jassi is not comfortable dancing or because she didn't know dancing. Because we had seen Jassi and Armaan dance together on Jassi's birthday and at that time, all of her family members were there. Jassi was not uncomfortable dancing with a group. She was uncomfortable dancing with a single guy and doing the western kind of dance in which one guy and girl dance together with each other holding each other. It is an intimate kind of romantic dance.😆
One reason for her reluctance was the culture which was instilled into Jassi which didn't permit her to do such a kind of dance.😛
There could be one more reason, why Jassi couldn't dance. I feel that it is because Purab was the man who was about to dance with her. She always dreamt of that kind of a dance with Armaan sir. 😳
Do you remember, the dream sequence of Jassi, in which Jassi dreams of Armaan coming to a disco and seeing her and asking her to dance along with him to the song 'Sooraj Hua Maddham' and in the dream they dance together and Armaan was teaching her to dance. It is very clear, that her mind wished to dance with Armaan.😳
Now at this point, Meenakshi, Armaan and her whole family was there and she felt uncomfortable dancing with Purab, perhaps because she always dreamt of doing that kind of a one-to-one dance with her dreamguy, Armaan Suri.😳
Did you notice how uncomfortable Jassi was when Purab took her into his arms and put his hand on her waist? It was as if she was feeling really uncomfortable, being touched in that romantic way, by another man, in front of the man she loved all along, her Armaan sir. Perhaps, that was why, she said to Purab, that she didn't know to dance and she didn't want to do it in front of all.😳
Purab thought that it is because Jassi didn't know to dance, but the inner truth is that Jassi was not uncomfortable with dancing. She was feeling uncomfortable dancing in that romantic way with Purab. Her brain agreed to it, that she is going to marry Purab, but her heart is still with Armaan and that was why she was feeling totally uncomfortable.😕
Purab knew that Jassi couldn't dance, but what confused Purab more was that she was not even willing to learn that dance or even try it out. Maybe Purab got a bit hurt by that and Meenakshi surely created that situation, because she knew that Jassi is not the kind of girl, who would dance in that kind of a party. But if we remember, Jassi-the secretary, who doted over her boss, Armaan sir.... that old Jassi always dreamt of doing a dance with Armaan Suri. 😛
Purab also didn't realise that Jassi was still in love with Armaan, but maybe he felt that there was some distance between him and Jassi, even though they are friends. Jassi never looked at Purab romantically and was always uncomfortable doing anything romantic with him. Purab inspite of that, wanted to get Jassi as his wife. 😕
Jassi doesn't belong to the high-level society, but Jassi was willing to do anything for her Armaan sir. Now if Armaan had requested Jassi for a dance with him, she would've tried to learn from him and do it, just because she was totally in love with her Armaan sir and wanted to be in his arms and then she would've forgotten the whole world in her love. 😳
Jassi didn't want to do it for Purab, because he was not her lover. At that point when she was made to dance with Purab, she felt very awkward and then after hearing Meenakshi saying that Jassi is not Purab's ideal woman, Jassi got even more hurt and it became a small excuse for Jassi to leave that high-level party, where she was feeling uncomfortable. Even at that point, she chose to leave with her Armaan Sir, because she always felt totally secure with him and that is what true love is all about.😳
I wouldn't say that its the difference between the societies that made her uncomfortable doing the dance. But it is the difference in the person she was dancing with. If instead of Purab, it was Armaan, then Jassi would've danced with him, after a bit of hesitation. But with Purab, she was totally uncomfortable.😆
Jassi was also feeling uncomfortable dancing with Purab, because, Jassi knew that Meenakshi loved Purab madly and Meenakshi was announcing the dance. Jassi was feeling totally awkward and she was feeling that by marrying Purab, she was somehow snatching Meenakshi's lover. That made her feel more uncomfortable dancing with Purab in front of her true-love Armaan and Purab ke liye crazy- Meenakshi.😳 😆
Purab wanted to prove to Meenakshi that Jassi was the ideal woman. Meenakshi only remembered what Purab said about the physical appearance of his ideal woman. In that way, Jassi didn't fulfill that criteria. But regarding his ideas of an intelligent woman, who is hardworking and truthful, those inner qualities were in Jassi. Meenakshi was shocked that Purab was chosing an ugly girl over a beautiful lady like herself and she always thought that she had all the inner and outer qualities needed in Purab's ideal woman. That made Meenakshi tell him that Jassi is not his ideal woman.😛
Purab saw the shock on Meenakshi's face, when he told her that Jassi was his fiancee and he knew that Meenakshi would say something of the sort in the party. The way Meenakshi announced that he changed himself for his love to Jassi, that hurt Purab and he wanted to show Meenakshi, that Jassi truly is matching with him in all ways. So he tried to make her dance, but Jassi's inner love for Armaan, made her reluctant from dancing with him in public and specially before Armaan sir.😳
Purab never understood that Jassi's inner soul completely loved Armaan. He thought that as Jassi was a practical middle-class girl, maybe she would put her past love behind and then at some point, become a romantic partner to him. He expected Jassi to forget Armaan and love him, the way she loved Armaan. But he was wrong in thinking that and he realised it, after he saw Jassi's reluctance in dancing with him. Jassi was not shy to dance in public, but rather she was uncomfortable dancing with Purab. 😕
Purab was too late in realising that Jassi whose heart is with Armaan won't be able to become a romantic partner to him. She may become his dutiful wife and friend, but never his lover. He didn't realise it, even when Meenakshi told him that Jassi was not his ideal woman. But Jassi it seems, realised it, because somewhere within, she felt that she was not made for Purab. That made her leave with Armaan and Purab was totally shocked to see her going away with Armaan. 😆
I would say Purab shouldn't have tried to make her dance, even after knowing that she had only a friendly feeling towards him and not a romantic emotion. Purab thought Jassi would somehow try to do it for his sake, but he was totally wrong. So i feel Purab at that point, shouldn't have forced Jassi into doing the dance.😳
But i feel that was Meenakshi's best trick, because in that way, she was able to seperate Jassi and Purab and create a ridge between them. She somehow made Purab think once again and do a self-analysis and, maybe after that party he did think again and that led to Purab leaving Jassi.😆
