Great topic, Ayesha!π
1. What was your first reaction about Armaan? Armaan...umm.....the guy reminded me of a character from another soap...Rishabh Malhotra of Swabhimaan. At first I thought he was a poor little rich boy just like Rishabh....then I realised he could be calculating and manipulative, and that sometimes put me off. But his occasional bursts of gentleness confused me. I think "confusing" was Armaan Suri's middle name in the initial episodes...later of course that name passed to Jassi!ππ
2. What made you fall for him even with his bratty attitude. The fact that, though he could be overconfident and incredibly stupid at times, he had an emotional side to him. But like a high society "cool dude", he wanted to deny that he had that side. In trying to maintain that denial, he ended up making himself more and more vulnerable and doing exactly the opposite of what he wanted to do: get caught up in his feelings. Eventually those feelings got the better of him, and from an arrogant, overconfident, insensitive boss he became a loving, devoted, passionate human being.
3. Do you think the way mommy and papa suri treated him made a difference in his attitude? Armaan's parents had a large hand in spoiling him. His mom seemed somehow very distant from him, it was always Mallika whom she was more concerned about. It was only during the Goa episodes that she rose to the fore as a true mother. Puru was a little better, but he should have taken a little more interest in his son and not put unreasonable demands on him like marrying Mallika.
4. How did you feel when Armaan pretended to love Jassi? At first I was very indignant, partly because I really did not believe that he would eventually fall for her. But there were times when his behaviour would make me suspect that he really loved her. As i said, the guy was confusing!π
5. What are your opinions on Casanova Armaan? I guess it was a phase in his life. He had not found an emotional anchor was yet, so he was just drifting from one girl to another. Mallika was just not the kind of girl who could give him that kind of emotional support. PLus he had a wonderful "friend" in Raj who was always intigating him.π
6. Why do you think he still chased girls despite being engaged and loved sooo much by Mallika? Mallika might have loved him (and did she, really, or was it more of a desire to possess him, to be Mrs. Armaan Suri?) but he didnt love her. He only told himself for a while that he did, but even then his life was a little empty and to fill that gap, he chased girls.
7. Atlast What did you like about Armaan? His personality?Acting? I loved the gradual, astonishing change in Armaan. From someone whom a girl would want to keep at arm's length, he became every girl's "Armaan." Apurva's acting was fantastic. It seemed like he was the character. Initially he seemed a little awkward but as the serial progressed, his acting got better and better. APu deserves full credit for making this character memorable!!πππ
