When will we see you in a positive role rather then the negative characters you always do?
— Gurupad Maity
Dear Gurupad,
For me, there is no such thing as positive or negative; it is the character and its portrayal that matters. Mallika in Jassi..., Tanya in Kyunki... and now Sadiya in Saara Akash — they are not negative for the sake of being negative; there are several other shades to them as well and there are characters in the show who actually sympathise with them.
Do you aspire for Bollywood?
— Samrina Shamir and Aarshi
Dear Samrina and Aarshi,
At the moment, I am happy to be on the small screen. I am not so big to fit on the big screen!
How did you feel when you gave your voice in Hum Hai Lajawab with Shah Rukh Khan?
— Nabil Virani and Joanne Deol
Dear Nabil and Joanne,
Dubbing is an individual effort; so at the time of dubbing, Shah Rukh Khan was not present. But we did interact at the media meet later and those few moments of interaction with him were moments to cherish.
Will you continue working in Kyunki after the next leap?
— Zareen Liaquat
Dear Zareen,
It all depends how Tanya's character is etched out.
How did tellydom happen?
— Sana Abdullah and Teena
Dear Sana and Teena,
I began by anchoring a countdown show for Zee and then I landed the Balaji thriller Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeequat which was followed by Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin.
Which one do you like to play better, Mallika or Tanya?
— Parama Newaz
Dear Parama,
Both. Mallika's character helps me play Tanya, and in turn Tanya's character lends a lot of itself to Mallika.
Who is your favourite character in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin?
— Aadil Yusuf
Dear Aadil,
It's a toss-up between Nandu and Maddy — for their sheer energy.
How do manage to play so many diverse roles like a teacher in Happy-Go-Lucky, a terrorist in Saara Akash, vamp in Jassi and a saut in Kyunki?
— Kanak G
Dear Kanak,
All I can say is that someone up there loves me and makes it possible for me to take on such diverse roles!
