Before I start………wish you a very happy JandA's first wedding anniversary!!!! 👏
So here goes:
On the morning of Armaan's birthday, Jassi gets up first and smiles to herself. Softly leaning over, she glances at Armaan. He is still asleep.
Mischief twinkling in her eyes, she lies back down and starts the performance:
"Armaan……….owwww Armaaaaan!!!" accompanied by shifting and moaning.
Armaan is still asleep.
Shooting him a glance of exasperation, she squeals louder than ever, "Armaan…..Armmmmaaaaannnn……..utho…..mujhe labour pains ho rahe hai!!!"
Armaan gets up with a start and switches on the light. He springs beside Jassi. "Jassi don't worry…..main hoon na….sab theek ho jayega…!"
The entire family (who have been listening outside the door!😆) rush in, with perfect expressions of worry and concern.
Billu: Jassi beta, tu theek toh hai na?
Ila: I think she's in labour…..Armaan, isse hospital le jaana hoga…..abhi issi waqt!
Armaan starts to call for an ambulance, but Nandu quickly snatches the phone.
Nandu: Koi faayda nahin Armaan…….yahaan ambulance aane mein bahut time lagayegi…..sadak theek nahin hai na…..Jassi ko hume hi hospital pahunchana hoga…..
The "labour pains" have apparently ceased for some time, as Jassi is lying back, breathing evenly and gasping softly. Armaan grabs her hand. "Jassi, main tumhe hospital le jaa raha hun…..keep calm!"
With Nandu's help, he carries Jassi to the car. Nandu sits beside him while Beauty bundles in with Jassi at the back. The moment they drive off, the rest of the family give vent to their suppressed giggles.
Amrit: Arre waah….mujhe toh pata hi nahin tha ki hamari Jassi itni achchi acting kar leti hai…
Billu: (grinning) Aakhir kiski Queen Victoria hai!
Vedika: (worried) Jassi mamma ko sachmuch bahut dard ho raha hai kya?
Meghna: Nahin sweetheart…..tumhari Mom sirf acting kar rahi thi……
Chaman reminds them that their work is far from finished. He brings out his tractor and loads several things into it. The family clambers in (Bebe included!😛) and roars off in the same direction as the car.
A while into the journey, Jassi starts squealing again. Beauty gasps, "Jeeju, lagta hai inhe phir se pains shuru ho gaye hai…."
Nandu: Armaan, I think hume thodi der ke liye gaadi rok deni chahiye…..jhatke lagne se Jassi ko aur takleef hogi….
Armaan halts the car and rushes back to look at Jassi. The place is a deserted one, with fields all around, dimly outlined in the dawn. He is too aghast to notice that Beauty has slipped out and is now standing with Nandu a few feet away, giggling and watching.😛
Armu slips beside Jassi and holds her hands. "I'm here Jassi…….chinta mat karo….main hoon na tumhare saath…"
Jassi: (gasping) Meri baat suno Armaan…..paas aao
Armu: (leaning closer, looking worried) Kya baat hai?
Jassi: Yeh!
She suddenly opens her eyes wide, grins and kisses him right on the lips. 😳😳😳Armaan is too shocked to react, till a huge cheer from the back makes him stare back at the road.
The tractor-load of family has drawn up, and is yelling in delight.😃
Armu gazes wide-eyed at Jassi, who blushes and whispers:
"Happy Birthday Armaan!"❤️
