She's someone who never shies away from traditions and rituals. Shilpa Saklani admits that she's religious at heart and observes most fasts and loves doing pooja. In fact, post her marriage to Apoorva Agnihotri, she wore her trademark red churas for a long time. Recently, she also came to Ronit Roy's birthday bash in a bright red sari after her karva chauth pooja.
Reacting to talks about her religious obsession, Shilpa says, "What's wrong in being faithful to one's religion? It's no one's business to comment on what I wear or what I do."
Matter of faith
Recently, she kept a series of fasts called sola somvars for Appu. She says, "I never give up on my daily pooja. A while back, I had kept sola somvaar for Appu and realised that it actually worked for us. After some weeks passed, I realised that certain hurdles that Appu had faced, both personally and professionally, had been sorted out. It was unbelievable but then I realised the impact of keeping these fasts. When such things happen, my faith and belief becomes more rigid."
Media shy
Defending Apoorva's habit of shying away from the media, Shilpa says, "That's the way he is. He doesn't like giving interviews and talking about himself. I guess many people label us as snobbish because we like keeping to ourselves, but there's not much I can do about it."
Even though she hasn't had the time to follow Nach Baliye 2 closely, Shilpa says she is excited about hosting it in the quarterfinals. "It's a fun show and it will be nostalgic to host it."
