Mona Singh aka Jassi will soon be seen participating in the reality dance show —Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.
Talking about her dual role as a participant, Mona says, "It's extremely hectic. Dancing and learning all the steps is quite challenging." Even though she loves to hit the dance floor at clubs, Mona admits "My style of dancing is all about having fun, but I can't do those moves on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. On the show, I have to get serious about dance and learn different genres like salsa, ball room dancing, and other forms."
It's different
Mona who is currently rehearsing for six hours a day, says she wants to put her best foot forward. "If I am in a contest, I might as well work hard to try and win the trophy. It's going to be difficult, but I also think it's great fun."
Singh doesn't want to compare her show to the super popular Nach Baliye, which will soon emerge in it's second season, "You can't compare the two shows. While Nach Baliye is all about drama and glamour, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa takes dance more seriously. They are totally different content wise."
Interestingly, Mona admits that she was approached to participate in Nach Baliye with a friend, "I couldn't do it as I have a contract with Sony."
Mona gets 'real'
Mona will host a reality show Extreme Makeover — for Sony, which will go on air in the coming months. The show offers plastic surgery to people with disfigured faces and bodies. Says Mona, "The show is all about changing lives. We have people whose faces are smashed in accidents and acid attack victims with disfigured features, who have been transformed with astonishing results." Singh adds the show gets her very emotional, "I can't control the tears. It's really moves me. We have a different set of doctors who cater to every need of the participants."
