Shveta Salve returns to work

Shveta Salve

After being bedridden for over a month due to jaundice, Shveta Salve is now back woring. The actress is gearing up to shoot with Rajeev Khandelwal for Tony and Deeya Singh's Left Right Left, on SAB.

"It feels good to get back in the studios," said Shveta, as she spoke about her new show.

"Left Right Left is set against an army background. I play a resident doctor." She's a psychiatrist who counsels the jawans.

Glam doc

Her first project after the end of Sarrkkar has Salve excited. "My look is a blend of chiffon saris and army uniforms. The saris are very similar to the ones in Yash Chopra movies. My character adds a dose of glamour to the show, and the boys like flirting with me."

Back home

How did she spend the time during her illness? "I stayed indoors. My state was serious and doctors have advised me against consuming any outside food or water." Shveta was at her mother's house during her illness, and has just moved back to her own house.

Shveta wasn't able to attend the last schedule of Sarrkar. "I didn't get a chance to be on the sets during the final scenes, as I was in hospital. But I did meet Rohit (Roy) when he came to see me later."

How does she feel about working with Rajeev on the new show? "I have never worked with him before, so I don't know much about him. Hopefully, it should be fun."

Akele mein... Darna mana hai

Actors Sudhanshu Pandey and Sumeet Raghavan reveal that their real-life spooky encounters while shooting Sony's forthcoming supernatural thriller, Akeyla (tentative title), left them with a better understanding of "spirits and other supernatural elements".

The plot has two cops Ranbir (Pandey) and Savio (Raghavan), who possesses extraordinary powers, which help them combat evil forces.

Says Pandey, "My real-life experience helped me perform better in this supernatural series. Whenever I'm enacting a spooky scene, my subconscious tells me that I have already felt an eerie presence years back."

Unlucky 13

Sumeet Raghavan

Talking about that experience, Sudhanshu says, "I had my first brush with a supernatural entity when I was 13. At that time, we were living in Bareily, and the monsoon had just set in.

After a heavy spell one evening, I was returning home after meeting a neighbourhood friend, and I saw a dhoti-clad man standing near some bushes. After walking by him, I turned back to look at him, and saw that he didn't have a face!"

Trick, or levitation?

However, his parents dismissed the incident as pure hallucination. Later, when Sudhanshu moved to Delhi to pursue modelling, he had another ghostly experience.

"I was staying in a rented room, in a bungalow near Preet Vihar, Delhi. The only other inmates were an old couple, who had a relative who visited them regularly. While I was staying there, this guy died in a road accident near our house.

After the incident, I would feel an eerie presence in my room throughout the day. And at night, I found myself floating in air; my music system would also start playing on its own. It was weird, and I have no logical explanation for it," says the actor.

Co-star Raghavan, however, is sceptical. "I don't believe in spirits. But a friend tries to convince me all the time that if there's positive energy, there has to be negative energy at work as well.

Kabhi To Nazar Milao ready to be launched

Kabhi To Nazar Milao (KTNM ) has been a show that seemed like it was jinxed. For over three months there were talks of it going on air on Sony. However the talks remained just that. But now it finally looks like the show will see the light of day. The channel has officially announced that it will launch the show on May 15.

KTNM is said to be a dramatic love story. While the female lead (Sudeepa Singh) is a simple girl waiting for her Prince Charming to sweep her off her feet, the male protagonist (Gagan Arya) is a rich playboy with aspirations of starting an art gallery. The serial will also star Lalit Parimo, Kishori Shahane, Mahroo Shaikh and Pankaj Berry and is part of the afternoon line-up the channel is trying to build.

Rakhi gives production a break

Last heard, actress-cum-producer Rakhi Tandon is planning to give her production house a break. "I want to concentrate on my acting as of now," she states. The bubbly actress says that she has been getting lots of offers from big production houses. "I've been reading some fabulous film scripts. And it is films that I want to do right now," she says. Apparently she is supposed to sign a big film shortly. But ask her about it and she replies: "I will talk about it only when it happens."
Well, we're waiting.

The only incident I can recall, is in Film City one evening. We had packed up late and while riding back on a bike, I saw a white figure crossing the road. But I think that could be my imagination. Anyway, I'm not affected or scared."
