I'm really sorry, guys. Had i known my server prob would take so long to get fixed, i wud never have posted that preview on Wednesday, or posted the full story. Anyway, here's an account--
A colleague of mine ran into SandA last week.
Just my rotten luck as usual! To think that SandA were in MY TOWN and i hadn't an inkling of it! This is the second time they have come to Dehradun, the first being when they got married here.
Just to set the record straight, SS is not Sindhi, she is Garhwali. Saklani is a GArhwali surname, and Dehradun is a part of the Garhwal HiMalayas in Uttaranchal.(Nainital is in the other region, kumaon.)That is why SandA had a traditional Garhwali wedding; SS's ancestral home is in Dehradun and she has relatives here too, so that wedding she attended last night was a family function. When they got married, their pictures appeared next day in the local newspapers and they DID both look tense and tired (but then, how many people relax at their own wedding?)
There was a report in the TOI, too. The headline read--"Ganga marries Jassi's Armaan Sir" (lol!)
Anyway, this colleague(i'll call her OD)was standing in the doorway chatting with some others. I was about to pass her with a casual "hi" when i overheard "and Armaan...." I swung around and demanded "WHAT!?"
Then she told me--at first when she saw AA, she told her friend, who was like "You've gone bonkers watching too much TV." Then they saw SS too, so they knew it was real. OD took the first chance to go up to AA and said "Hi, Armaan sir!" and he very quietly and shyly said "hi". Then she felt a little embarrassed and added, "i mean, Apurva" and he just nodded quietly.
I asked OD what AA looked like, and she said "Exactly as he looks in JJKN." When i asked further, she said that he is very shy but can be lively at times, when he is with his family. Most of the time he was just moving around casually with his hands in his pockets. The ladies there kept calling him "Armaan beta". One old lady shook hands with him and someone commented "Now she won't be able to sleep all night!"
The i asked her what SS was like (trying to sound casual but failing completely) and OD said "very talkative(don't we know it!)". She was dressed in a halter -neck blouse and sari and she is VERY fond of children. they kept crowding around her , saying "Ganga aunty" and she refused to dance without the children.
I wanted to really ask her about SandA's vibes with each other and how they seemed to be as people, but i couldn't ask too many questions as she is not a close friend of mine, and it would have looked strange. AS it is, i had a hard time concealing my excitement. OD doesn't watch JJKN and was more interested in SS than in AA (!).she did say that SandA are exactly like they were in NB.(hmmmm...?)
OD said "AA is a COMPLETE JKG!" and i asked "what's that ?" and she said "JORU KA GHULAM!"
And she also said that SS was pulling AA's cheeks and calling him "baby" and what not.....i asked "she is very possessive, isn't she?" (OD must have been wondering at the strange look on my face) and she said, yes, she was always holding him by the arm, and once when he was talking to some people SS came and pulled him inside.
That was all i could get out of her. Don't i wish i was in her place! I could have hugged AA (making sure SS was watching) and told him to give my love to Mona! Anyway, all this confirms what we already know about SandA. I won't say anything further--i know you guys will have plenty to say!
P.S. This also explains why Armaan left so suddenly for Delhi--Apu had to accompany his spouse to a wedding.
