| Rakshanda Khan, famous as Mallika in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin and also in Kynuki, is stepping into Big B's shoes. The new show Jodi Kamaal Kii replaces KBC on Saturday nights from March 4. While Rakshanda also hosts Indian Idol Taka Tak, a behind-the-scenes show with Idol contestants for Sony, it is Jodi Kamaal Kii, a show produced by Dheeraj Kumar's Creative Eye, that has got her all excited. The one-hour game show tests a couple's compatibility, three couples go through five rounds to vie for the winner's title and how well they know each other. Jodi Kamaal Kii may be called as 'Jodee Kamaal Kii' Come the Saturday eve of March 4, 9.00 PM and the Star Plus viewers will have its way to cheer & grab another visual fiesta. As the channel gears up to bring to the tellly tubes of Indian households, a unique celebrity game show- Jodi Kamaal Ki. Based on the universal theme of love, companionship and understanding Jodi Kamaal Ki, will be a distinctive show in the prime-time weekend slot of Star Plus programming pool. The show will probe into the compatibility levels of couples, while giving a platform to these celebrity pairs to come forward and participate as teams and relive their moments of truth, joy, despair, agreement or even disagreement. The three participating celebrity couples, on the show will be invited from various walks of life be it- sports, politics, music, films or television. As they will unabashedly come forward to contend in a spirit of competitiveness, the show will be a platform for them to unleash a different aspect of their personalities, which perhaps even remains hidden from their own loved ones, as they also get a measure of their understanding levels with their own real life partners in their real life roles of husband, wife, daughter, brother or parents. Contesting hard against each other in the spirit of competitiveness, the show will bring upon these celebs, a level of empathy and understanding towards each other, which they are sure to cherish as a great experience for a long time. Anchoring and leading her way up to viewers hearts will be another Star attraction to the show- Rakshanda Khan. Poised with her feminine lan, Rakshanda is sure to be the show stealer for Jodi Kamaal Ki. As, she will be seen making good ones with the celeb teams, comforting and assuring them to come out of their closets and put their best foot forward. Sporting an altogether a different shade of their character, the viewers are sure to have a gala time while they will watch their favorite celeb couples in a special role on Jodi Kamaal Ki . The five interesting rounds designed to use different skill sets of each partner to test how well they complement each other are sure to leave viewers excited and entertained in more ways than one. According to Shailja Kejriwal, senior creative director, Star India, "Dheeraj Kumar came up with the idea and it appealed to us. Rakshanda was chosen because we required someone who was both good-looking and intelligent. The show will Start with famous married couples and then go on to brother-sister duos or friends." "It's a fun concept and a homegrown one, Just two days before I was going to Cairo for a show, I got a call from Dheeraj Kumar. He wanted me to give a 'look test' as the show required a very Indian/ethnic look with saris, complete with a jooda and gajras. Hemant Trevedi and the Sheetal Design Studio have been roped in to design my clothes. We have shot about nine episodes with cricketers, politicians and TV Stars." says Rakshanda. And what about the winners of the show Do they get a new look or a fancy prize No, they have to participate for the sheer love of it. However, just like Koffee with Karan, we, too, have a gift hamper for the partners. I'm the host but often I am just there as a bystander to an argument between two partners for not knowing enough about each other. For the most part, I am having a lot of fun." Rakshanda adds. The Values of the Show Pyaar Ka Imtihaan - A warm up round , this will test how well the partners know and to what extent do they agree with each other. Simple questions about their lives will be asked, which will often lead to some fun revelations about the teams Kaam Ke Na Kaaj Ke - This round will test how well the teams can step into each others shoes. For instance, the husbands might have to style a models hair, make chapatis, apply make up to a model etc, while the wives have to tie neckties, make models wear pagdis and other such interesting things. Bolo To Jaane - This round will test the understanding between the couples and how well a celebrity couple communicates. Bol-Boli Bol - This will be a trust game where one partner will be asked to bet the amount of their choice from the points that they have earned on a task to be completed by their respective spouse / partner. |
